End of Year: The Best Time to Buy!

End of the Year Car Deals
It's no secret that the end of the year is one of the best times to purchase a new vehicle. We’ll go a step further—it’s the best time. Not only are dealerships trying to move the current year's inventory to make room for next year's, but dealers have several quotas to meet by December 31st. That's a recipe for some serious savings, and Mount Airy CDJRF wants you to take advantage! Below, we'll cover in more detail why buying a car at the end of the year is worth considering and give you a few pointers for how you can prepare! Why the End of the Year? There's no better time of year to buy a car than in December. More specifically, the end of December can present the most savings opportunities to car buyers. All salespeople have quotas that they must meet to be successful. This often means monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals for how many cars they sell. When it comes to the end of the year, dealers are incredibly motivated to hit their quotas and may qualify for an annual bonus. That's the main reason the highest incentive spending often occurs in the last few days of December. Depending on the calendar year, specials can remain through the first couple of days of January. If the dealership is open on December 31st, that's the perfect day to negotiate a vehicle purchase.   Preparing for Deals OK, so you are convinced to hit the dealership in the final days of December. Let's talk about a few nifty tactics you can employ to ensure you get the best deal possible:   Plan Early There is a caveat to showing up at the dealership in the last few days of December. Generally speaking, dealerships experience less traffic in the weeks leading up to Christmas. However, between Christmas and New Year's, more people are off work and heading out to shop for vehicles. In other words, you may not have as much time to negotiate with dealers during this period. That's why it's essential to research as early as possible to narrow down your models of interest and schedule your test drives ahead of time.   Look Online When it comes to narrowing down your options, you don't have to leave the comfort of your home to look at cars. For example, you can peruse Mount Airy CDJRF's website to see plenty of images and information for a wide range of vehicles! While we love to see our customers look at our inventory in person, we understand that it's not the most convenient thing to do, especially during the holidays. Shopping online is just another way to simplify your car buying experience. And we are all about making things simple for you!   Be Open to New Ideas More times than not, you won’t get a breathtaking deal on a popular vehicle that is selling well. But if you are flexible and leave your options open, you can maximize your savings. For instance, maybe there are a couple of models you can envision yourself buying that were not previously on your wishlist. Or perhaps you would be satisfied with purchasing a used vehicle with low mileage. Make a list of the non-negotiable features in your future car, and try to remain open to new ideas otherwise.   Take a Test Drive Never make the mistake of purchasing a vehicle without first test driving it. It's ideal to try out a few models before you make your final decision. Even if you are obsessed with the aesthetic appeal and performance features a particular model offers, you will not be happy with it in the long run if it doesn't feel right when you are driving it. Remember that there are no returns when it comes to buying a car, and taking a test drive can keep you from making a costly mistake. Moreover, if the dealer suggests that you try a different model, say yes. You may end up loving it, and it may come with better incentives than the alternative.   Conclusion Car dealerships usually offer various savings opportunities throughout the year, but purchasing during the final days of December is the best way for you to score big. Remember to start shopping online as soon as you can, and be flexible when it comes to the models you consider. We have a variety of Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, and Fiat vehicles that we need to get off the lot. Give us a call or visit our website today to schedule some test drives!

Riding with Alexa: Fiat Chrysler Integrates Alexa Custom Assistant

This year, Fiat Chrysler will be the very first car company to offer Amazon’s innovative AI-based technology, the Alexa Custom Assistant, which allows you to drive with a full-time assistant wherever you go. By building-in Alexa, your vehicle can communicate with you through a simple conversation, making your driving experience even more special. Taking a road trip with Alexa is nothing new. Anyone can purchase and carry a portable Alexa so she can answer questions and work your calendar, but never have we seen a system that integrates with your vehicle so closely—literally, becoming a part of your car. Fiat Chrysler will be the first automaker to use Alexa Custom Assistant alongside its own proprietary in-car voice assistant. By using this innovative technology, Alexa is able to communicate with your car’s Uconnect system, as well as, any other device connected: house lights, home alarm, etc. Imagine, speaking to your car to control your media, smart home devices, even to remind to you pick up groceries on the way home. And to make the prospect of driving with an assistant even more enticing, Fiat Chrysler will not charge for the integrated program. How it Works How will I differentiate between Alexa and my car’s Uconnect? Fiat Chrysler has set up the Alexa Custom Assistant in such a way that drivers won’t need to remember two wake-up phrases to access both systems. Simply use one wake-up phrase to access Alexa and she will take care of the rest. According to Amazon, “This allows the brand’s assistant to act as the product specialist, while Alexa is still available to help with everyday needs.” Not only can you customize and use one wake-up word, but you can also customize voices and other intricate aspects to the system’s capabilities. Amazon’s goal with the Custom Assistant is to have a system that can be personalized by each user so each conversation with Alexa is unique. Now your Chrysler is even more tailored to you. What we really like about this close relationship between Fiat Chrysler and Alexa is that it’s all based on language, which allows you to keep your eyes on the road and your hands upon the wheel at all times. What’s more, this language will constantly be improving. Since your Alexa Custom Assistant will be powered by Amazon, it will continually improve and update its language understanding, intent routing, intelligence, and response speed so you are always working with the most updated and innovative virtual assistant created. Different car brands can even create their own unique voice that guides the driver through the system’s functionality, making the technology suite even more unique and enticing. Now, from the comfort of your own vehicle, you can use an intelligent assistant to control a range of devices like increasing or decreasing the incline on a treadmill, changing the channel on a stereo system or television, even starting a robot vacuum! Looking ahead, more car companies are indicating a possible relationship with Amazon’s custom software. Lamborghini and Rivian vehicles hope to have Amazon control basic functions such as climate control, windows, media, and phone calls. Benefits to Riding with Alexa The idea of riding with a virtual assistant is groundbreaking for sure, and we can’t wait to try it out. Just imagine how different the driving experience will be… With Alexa, the Uconnect voice command system becomes more powerful. Answering the phone, making calls and texts, even controlling your music has never been easier—and safer. The Alexa Custom Assistant system gives you plenty of reasons not to look at your phone while driving. You can connect all sorts of systems and devices by using your new smart assistant. SiriusXM Guardian and Roadside Assistance both connect to Alexa Custom Assistant so that you can have remote access from just about anywhere. This allows you to maintain control of your safety and entertainment at all times. Alexa, paired with a wonderfully advanced navigation system, allows you to activate and control your road trips using touchscreen or voice commands. Not only does the navigation system let you know where you are going and how to get there, but it also gives information on where ATMs, restaurants, and so much more are located—and all this comes audibly so you can focus on the road ahead. At Mount Airy Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, we are so excited to drive with Alexa. To find more out about when the Alexa-infused Chryslers will be available, visit our website or come see us in person.

End of Year Sales at Mount Airy Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram

It’s nearly the end of the year and you know what that means: great deals on vehicles from Mount Airy Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram! Right now, and through to the end of 2020, we have some of the best prices on all your favorite vehicles. Better come look at the lot while they last though, because with prices as low as these, they will not last long. Though traveling plans may have been canceled this holiday season, the holidays themselves are still sure to be hectic. The gifts, the food, the long drives to look at Christmas lights, these are sure to keep us all busy this season, and what better way to enjoy them than in a brand-new car! With the end of the year approaching, December is the best time to buy your next vehicle. Buy Now, Save Big! Buying at the end of the year is a sure way to save money because it is typically when car dealerships are the most anxious to close a sale in order to meet or exceed the year’s quota. On top of that, room has to be made to house the wave of next year’s models. This means our current, new and shiny, vehicles have got to go. Come vehicle shopping the last two weeks in December and you will find yourself negotiating over a sale that must be made. These two weeks are the absolute best in timing, but you do have to act quickly so as not to miss out on getting the vehicle you want. As with any significant purchase, research and patience are necessary. In a perfect vehicle-buying situation, you the customer, as well as the salesperson, are both benefiting from the buying process. Waiting until the end of the workday is good, holding out until the end of the month is better, but if you can withstand the temptation to buy until those last few weeks in December, you will be able to give yourself quite a nice post holiday gift and for the best possible price. What to Get It takes time to find the right vehicle. You want something tough, something you see on the road a lot—not the side of the road. For example, how many Jeep or Chrysler models do you see broken down, shamefully sitting on the side of the highway? Not often, if ever, and that’s because they are trustworthy workhorses that last a heck of a long time. The new Jeep Grand Cherokee easily gets 17 miles mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway, which is not bad at all for such a powerful SUV. Or, have a look at the venerated Chrysler 200 with its polished look and superior performance. Buying at the end of the year is clearly a good choice even if you have only just been thinking of getting a new ride. Because December brings with it sales quotas and mandatory vehicle movement for dealerships, it is the perfect time for the purchaser. But, what kind of deals are we talking here? The Dodge Ram Versus the Nissan Titan: Which is the Better Purchase this Winter?

Now is the absolute best time to buy a new truck, but which one (of the seemingly endless makes and models available) should you get? The Ram 1500 has been leading the market for some time now, but is that a good enough reason to go Ram? Let’s have a closer, more detailed look at two of the most sought-after pickups today, the Ram 1500 and the Nissan Titan, to find out which one actually offers the most in terms of bang for your buck. Today’s truck market is pulsating with new features and drivetrains and technological capabilities never seen before. The modern truck is luxurious, cool, smooth, and tougher than ever, making it the perfect vehicle for family, fun, and work. But before we look into the reasons why a hardy truck is a perfect vehicle year-round, especially in those frosty winter months, let’s see which one has the most to offer, the Ram or the Titan. Ram vs. Titan Both trucks have high rankings and a large fan base—the Ram 1500 being the most popular—but when it comes to finding which truck is objectively best in terms of quality and performance, it’s a good idea to look at the cold, hard facts. Here is a detailed breakdown of what we found after researching the specs for both vehicles (all information is based on 2019 models): Price— • The invoice price for the standard Ram 1500 is $36,610 while the most similar and comparable (by way of performance and size) Titan goes for $51,290. • The manufacturer suggested retail price is $38,740 for the Ram and $54,630 for the Titan. • Monthly payment estimates (without current holiday sales) are $646 a month for Ram and $911 a month for Titan. Fuel Economy— • The Ram 1500 has 20 mpg in the city while the Titan offers 15 mpg. • For highway mpg, the Ram goes for 25 mpg and the Titan falls slightly under with 21 mpg. Interior Dimensions— • The Ram has 40.9 inches and the Titan has 41.8 inches in terms of front legroom. • The second-row legroom is 45.2 inches (Ram) versus 38.5 inches (Titan). • Looking at head clearance (for those taller individuals), we have 40.9 inches in the front and 39.8 inches in the back of the Ram. The Titan allows for 41 inches in the front and 40.4 inches in the back. *At this point in our research, it is important to note that legroom and head clearance are the only instances, so far, where the Titan does slightly better than the Ram. • Overall exterior height is another win for the Ram with 77.5 inches versus the Titan’s 75.6 inches. A slight difference, but every little bit adds up when aggregating for the most comfort. Trailering (indicated in pounds)— • The maximum trailering capacity is 6550 for Ram and 9380 for Titan. • Dead-weight hitch max for Ram is 6550 while the Titan does a bit better with 9380. *Clearly, the Titan can pull more weight and this can be a critical piece of information for those truck drivers looking to tow something extremely heavy. For most people though, owning a truck that can pull up to 6,550 pounds is more than enough. But let’s not rule out those of us who need a truck that can pull a house off its foundation. Engine Power— • The Ram offers 305-horsepower at 6400 RPMs. The Titan, 390 horsepower at 5800 RPMs. • Ram comes as either electric or gas at a V-6 while the Titan only comes as a regular unleaded V-8. So what do we end up with after looking at all this? Well, hopefully, this narrows the search by placing these trucks into two categories: one that hauls better and offers a bit more room, and one that does just about everything else. The Titan is tough and roomy and it makes sense that it has such a devoted following, but it still can't compete with the Ram's low price and better gas mileage—and we haven't even looked at the added features and technology where the Ram steps out even more. Sure, the Titan may have a bit more legroom, but when riding in the Ram you can't tell. And if you could, you wouldn't care. The Ram 1500 is too smooth and just too reliable to be competed with. A Closer Look at the Ram 1500 A big reason for the success of the RAM truck is its adaptive nature, which is the reason we think it is the safest and most fun vehicle to drive during winter. The RAM 1500 is so much more than just a truck. It's simply the best option to combat the snow, ice, and mud experienced during winter. Let's have a look at a few things the Ram 1500 can do:   • Hauling Capabilities. Though it doesn’t do as well as the Titan, the 2019 Ram makes big moves in way of hauling and towing. Its powerful V-6, V-8, or electric engine can handle heavy-duty loads with ease and smoothness that you’ll find is just not offered by the Titan. Overall power is one thing, but let’s be honest: we will most likely not need to tow something that weighs 9,380 pounds. Moreover, most other trucks are not powered by a revolutionary eTorque, hybrid engine that combines fuel and electricity. And what keeps the Ram from swaying or vibrating while hauling or towing big loads is its high-strength steel frame. For those drivers looking to pull neighbors out of snowdrifts or mud pits, this is your truck. The 2019 RAM’s rugged luxury lets you get hard work done with style and comfort.   • No excuse not to make it into the office. The thought of using your RAM truck as an office may sound a bit strange, but Ram understands truck enthusiasts often need to work while on the move, and sometimes the weather tries to keep us down. So why not have a luxurious, roomy cabin to use as a mobile office; an office that can offer plenty of room and soft light and comfort while simultaneously gliding through slush and rain and ice. Once you open the door to the 2019 Ram 1500, soft leather, dark mood lights, and extra space to sit and spread out welcomes you. This is the perfect office. The Harmon Kardon premium speakers offer clear, crisp conversations with clients, while the dual-pane panoramic sunroof offers plenty of natural light. The middle armrest is a perfect mini-desktop, and the dash and surrounding area serve as a perfect space to hold paperwork and materials. Don't be surprised if you end up spending more time in here than in your actual office.   • Taking the family for a ride. It’s freezing outside; it’s icy and gray and everyone is starting to get cabin fever. Let’s go for a ride! The first rule of transporting the most precious cargo (family) is safety and comfort. And though a truck has never been the first vehicle pictured for luxury rides, this has changed with the Ram. Once you and your family are inside the Ram 1500 with the doors shut and that engine purring, you realize you are no longer in a truck—at least in the traditional sense. The thick, plush seating that easily seats five makes the already-smooth drive even smoother. As you float on down the road, exterior sounds are muted while the interior atmosphere is enhanced. The tinted windows, mood lighting, and ample legroom place everyone at ease as all begin to understand they are in something new: a luxuriously tough and roomy cabin made to make everyone happy. It makes sense why so many people are going for the new Ram. It’s the perfect combination of an SUV, truck, and luxury sedan, which creates the most advanced crossover—that’s not actually a crossover—ever created. The Time is Now With end-of-year sales on top of holiday sales, right now is the time to buy a new Ram 1500. After the $3,700 employee discount, $1,000 retail consumer cash, $500 bonus cash, and $1,000 Southeast BC Fast Start Bonus, you end up with a price of $36,175. That is over $6,000 of savings!
