Hybrids: A More than Happy Medium

Hybrid vehicles are a great gateway to the world of plug-ins and electric vehicles. For an everyday vehicle to run errands, commutes, and kids all around, a hybrid means you lose very little by gaining a plug and enough electric range for many people to never use a drop of gas. The Pacifica Hybrid is specifically a great vehicle for families who can’t make the leap to a fully electric vehicle. Hybrids are reasonable; with a lack of infrastructure in place, such as the absence of charging stations for electric vehicles right now in North Carolina, electric vehicles just aren’t cut out for out-of-town family visits or longer road trips. But for those who want to keep their driving local or cut down emissions, or go entirely tailpipe-emissions free, the Pacifica Hybrid is the way to go.

Saving You Money, and Saving You Time

Charging an electric vehicle isn’t as fast as pumping gasoline for sure, but it does not have to have to take up all of your time. You can charge your battery at home in only two hours with the available 240-volt Level II charger. In comparison… The Pacifica Hybrid 2019’s quick charge in just two hours is faster than the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, the Volvo XC90 Plug-In Hybrid, and the Chevrolet Volt. We’d say that’s pretty quick!
  • Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid: 2 hours
  • Chevrolet Volt: 2.3 hours
  • Volvo XC90 Plug-In Hybrid: 3.0 hours
  • Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV: 3.5 hours

Safe. Secure. Sound.

The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid has over 100 standard and available safety and security features. Some of these impressive features include:
  • Available full-speed forward collision with active braking
  • Available LaneSense lane departure warning with lane keep assist
  • Available adaptive cruise control with stop and go
  • Available 360 degree surround-view camera
  • Fog Front driving lights
  • ParkSense with Stop Parking assist
And what’s the overall NHTSA safety rating? It shouldn’t be surprising that the Pacifica Hybrid received a 5/5 rating. What is the total combined driving range of the Pacifica Hybrid? The Pacifica Hybrid has an 82 MPG rating, and a 32-mile electric range with an incredible total driving range of up to 520 miles. All of those family vacations you have been dreaming of? Totally within your reach.

Crunching Numbers and Configurations:

The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid at a glance includes:

  • Fuel tank capacity: 16.5 gallons
  • Engine: 3.6L V-6

Specs: Riding in Style and Comfort

The interior of the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is designed to impress. With the most innovative seating and storage in its class and an eco-chic design, the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is as family friendly as it is environmentally friendly. The basic trim includes ABS and driveline traction control, with 17-inch polished and painted accented aluminum wheels. Climate control in the vehicle truly gives control to everyone in the vehicle. The Pacifica includes front air conditioning, dual-zone automatic, and rear air conditioning as well. It may be cold in the driver’s seat but are the kids complaining about being hot in the back? Separate controls in the back ensure everyone in the vehicle is comfortable. For radio-aficionados, the Pacifica comes standard with SiriusXM, AM/FM/HD/Satellite, and a seek-scan radio, all controlled by two first row LCD monitors. These monitors feature the most advanced entertainment system available in seven-passenger hybrid, meaning fun, immersive, and smart interaction for the whole family. All of the doors on the Pacifica include Keyfob Remote keyless entry. It also includes heated mirrors, cloth seat trim, driver lumbar support, and a 60-40 split-bench third-row seats. The Touring Plus trim provides the driver and front passenger heated-cushion, heated-seatback, heated front seats, and a leather seat trim. The additional or replacing feature on Touring L trim includes Nappa leather seat trim, driver and passenger lumbar support, a navigation system, a panoramic sunroof, 20 speaker Harman Kardon sound, a $775 S Appearance package, and a 120 AC outlet.

What does the Pacifica Hybrid cost?

The price ranges from $41,490 to $51,050 depending on the trim levels.

Does the Pacifica Hybrid qualify for a tax credit?

When you purchase an electric vehicle, you may be eligible for a one-time federal tax credit of up to $7500, which is not an incentive guaranteed for other hybrid vehicles on the market. It’s worth noting that this nonrefundable credit doesn’t carry over year to year, so make sure you take advantage of this tax credit while you can. You can receive a portion of the $7500 tax credit even if your tax liability is below $7500. Ask our team at Mount Airy CDJRF if you’re interested in learning more about the tax incentives available to you.

The Pacifica Hybrid: How does it work on a long haul? What if you can’t plug in to charge?

While the Pacifica doesn’t have enough battery capacity to go entirely on electric power, it can be used as fully electric around town, and as a hybrid for long trips. With a quiet ride inside, excellent captain’s chairs in the first and second rows, and room for seven total passengers, there’s nothing keeping you from enjoying a road trip in this vehicle. The Pacifica Hybrid delivers more usable all-electric range than most other plug-in hybrids and actually recharges the battery pack on regenerative brakes. So, even if you’re running on gas, as you drive and stop, the battery can recharge slightly. Now you can drive where you want when you want without any of the range anxiety. The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid seamlessly switches from an electric motor to a gas engine for greater peace of mind and total hybrid power.

How do you charge it and how long does it take?

When you purchase a Pacifica Hybrid, it comes equipped with a Level I 120-volt AC charging cord set, which requires a conventional 120-volt AC grounded wall receptacle along with the portable charging cord set. Ensure that your vehicle is turned off and plug the charger cord into the vehicle's power outlet. You can find the charging cord set by opening the cargo area storage bin on the driver’s side, which includes the charging cord in a storage bag. Keep in mind that this cord set is for Level I charging only. Once you begin, insert the AC plug of the charging set into the grounded wall receptacle. Then take the charge connector and place it in the vehicle’s charge inlet. A “click” will be heard when inserted correctly, and the charge active indicator lights will cycle from left to right. Once your vehicle is fully charged, the lights in the charge indicator will show all five bars. You can also set a charging schedule with the available 4C NAV in the Hybrid Electric pages app. On the Charging Schedule page, you can set a charging schedule by checking the box next to the setting “Enable Schedule” and customizing as needed. You can choose to “charge Until Full,” which allows the vehicle to fully charge versus stopping at a certain point. You can manage all of this right from your smartphone. The Level 1 120-volt charger can be fully recharged in approximately 14 hours. You can shorten the time and charge your Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid in as little as 2 hours by using an available Level II 240-volt charger. Charging times are estimated but can change based on the age and condition of the battery, and the current provided to the charger.

What’s the expected life of the battery?

The expected life of the lithium-ion battery is the life of the vehicle.

What about charging from a public charging station? How long does that take?

At a public charging station, the Pacifica Hybrid can be charged on Level II 240-volt chargers and takes around 2 hours to fully charge from a completely empty battery.

What is the estimated cost of charging the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid? It takes 13k to fully charge the battery and using the national average electricity rate of $0.12/kWh, it costs approximately $1.66 to fully charge the battery using a home charger.

Can you tow with a Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid? If so, how much can it tow?

Towing a trailer is not permitted on the 2019 Pacifica Hybrid, as hybrids are not rated for towing and the added weight of the battery already weighs on the vehicle significantly. You cannot order the Pacifica Hybrid with a towing package as a result. The non-hybrid Pacifica with the tow package is rated for 3.6K lbs.

Is the Pacifica Hybrid worth it?

Here at Mount Airy CDJRF, we believe that the Pacifica Hybrid 2019 speaks for itself. As not just the only hybrid minivan on the market, but the best of the best when it comes to your hybrid family vehicle options, the Chrysler Pacifica is a classic in the making and built to suit families of all kinds. Torn between the Pacifica and the Pacifica Hybrid? It’s hard to justify not buying the plug-ins, as the non-hybrid is basically the same as the hybrid unless you really need the second-row seat to fold into the floor on a regular basis, or if you’re locked into a tighter budget and are seeking a lower spec Pacifica. With seating for up to seven, it’s the perfect vehicle for families big and small. With the purchase of a Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid, you may be able to factor in the $7500 federal EV tax credit, alongside other possible state and local added incentives, meaning that the hybrid can definitely cost less than the equivalent non-hybrid Pacifica, or other similar vehicles. For example, any other minivan, including the Honda Odyssey, gets nearly as expensive when matching what the Pacifica includes, and they don’t qualify for the $7500 EV tax credit, or other incentives like the carpool lane stickers. Come by Mount Airy CDJRF today to check out the 2019 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid and see why it’s truly the best in its class.   -Tayler Green

Car Buying for Women | Mount Airy Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram FIAT

Women Are Redefining Car Buying

Women Are Changing the Way Cars Are Bought If you’ve been to Mount Airy Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram FIAT recently, you may have noticed something exciting: more and more women are walking confidently into the showroom, ready to find a vehicle that fits their lifestyle — and they’re doing it on their own terms. According to dealership leader Dean Girgenti, that’s no accident. He’s seen how women have transformed the car-buying experience by bringing preparation, insight, and patience to what was once seen as an intimidating process. “A lot of guys get stuck in a ‘got-to-have-it’ mindset,” Dean explains, “while women tend to be more flexible and analytical. They do the research, compare options, and make smart decisions that get them great deals.” That mix of thoughtful planning and confidence has helped women buyers earn a reputation for being among the most informed and successful shoppers in today’s auto market. A New Era of Car Buying: Women in the Driver’s Seat Not long ago, visiting a dealership alone could feel intimidating for many women. Sales floors were often geared toward male buyers, and the process felt like something to be “handled” rather than enjoyed. But that’s the old way of thinking. Today’s world is very different. Industry observers note that women now influence the majority of vehicle purchases — not just for themselves, but for their families and households as well. Recent research shows that women’s preferences guide nearly every step of the buying journey, from online research to final decisions. And it makes sense. Women are naturally thorough shoppers. They read reviews, check safety ratings, compare fuel economy, and weigh maintenance costs before setting foot on a lot. That same diligence translates into better deals and vehicles that truly meet their needs. The Numbers: Women’s Growing Influence Industry experts agree that women are one of the most powerful forces in today’s automotive market. Many studies suggest that women influence around eight out of ten vehicle purchase decisions — both new and used. While exact figures vary, the trend is unmistakable: women’s voices now shape nearly every dealership experience in America. Recent registration studies also reveal that brand preferences differ based on lifestyle rather than gender stereotypes. In several mainstream brands, women now account for well over half of all personal new-vehicle registrations, while segments centered on large trucks still lean more male. This diversity shows that there’s no single “women’s car” — instead, there’s a wide range of vehicles chosen for practical, financial, and family reasons. At a broader level, national dealership data shows that overall satisfaction and transparency have increased over the past two years. With inventories returning to normal and digital tools making research easier, buyers — especially those who approach the process methodically — are finding better deals and more enjoyable shopping experiences. It’s a win for everyone, but especially for the well-prepared, research-driven buyer. Why Women Often Get Better Deals When you take emotions out of the process and replace them with solid research, you instantly gain negotiating power. That’s something Dean and his team at Mount Airy CDJRF see every day. Women tend to: Research more thoroughly before visiting a dealership. They know what trim levels, warranties, and features are worth — and which ones aren’t. Avoid impulse decisions. Instead of chasing a color or a style, they focus on value, safety, and practicality. Stay flexible. Having a few options in mind (instead of one “must-have” vehicle) gives them more room to negotiate and find the best overall deal. Many dealership professionals agree that these qualities often lead to fairer, more balanced transactions. It’s not about being a “tough negotiator” — it’s about being an informed one. From Intimidated to Empowered There was a time when women were told to “bring someone along” when buying a car. That idea is long gone. Modern dealerships — including Mount Airy Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat — have worked hard to make the experience comfortable, transparent, and pressure-free. Here’s how that looks in practice: Respect comes first. Every guest is treated with courtesy and honesty, no matter their experience level. Clear communication. We explain every figure, from price to financing, so nothing feels hidden or confusing. A safe, relaxed environment. Our goal is to make sure every buyer — woman or man — feels completely at ease asking questions and exploring options. Women shouldn’t feel like they have to “brace” for the process. Instead, they can look forward to finding a vehicle that fits their lifestyle, whether that’s a sporty Jeep Wrangler, a capable Ram truck, or a family-friendly Chrysler Pacifica. Women Shop Smart and Confidently If you’re planning your next purchase, here are a few simple habits that women say can make a huge difference — and they’re the same strategies we see our most confident customers use: Start with research. Look up average selling prices, warranty coverage, and financing options online. Check safety and reliability ratings. Trusted automotive organizations publish yearly rankings for safety and performance — great tools for narrowing your search. Bring your notes. Don’t hesitate to show your research when negotiating. It’s proof you’ve done your homework and expect transparency. Be flexible. Have a few models, colors, or trims in mind. That flexibility often leads to better pricing and faster deals. Understand the full cost. A lower monthly payment isn’t always the best deal. Compare total cost, interest rate, and term length to see the real picture. The team at Mount Airy CDJRF is happy to walk through any of these steps with you — no pressure, no rush. Electric Cars, Hybrids, and What’s Ahead The rise of electric and hybrid vehicles is another area where women are shaping the market. Current thinking among industry analysts suggests that as EVs become more affordable and charging more convenient, more women are considering them as a realistic choice for their next car. Still, experts say practicality drives these decisions: reliability, safety, and total cost of ownership remain the top priorities. That’s why the Mount Airy team takes time to compare fuel, maintenance, and incentive differences between gas, hybrid, and electric options — so buyers can make a clear-eyed choice that fits their lifestyle. The Mount Airy CDJRF Promise Here in Mount Airy, we’re proud to serve a community where women are empowered to make smart, confident choices — in life and in the showroom. We know that trust is earned, not assumed. That’s why our team is committed to providing: A respectful, no-pressure environment where every buyer feels valued. Clear, honest information at every step of the process. Supportive guidance from a staff that listens first and sells second. Whether you’re researching your first car, upgrading for a growing family, or exploring electric options, we’re here to make sure you feel completely comfortable and confident — because that’s what modern car buying should be. Car buying in 2026 and beyond is about partnership, not persuasion. Women aren’t just part of the market — they are driving it forward. At Mount Airy Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram FIAT, we’re honored to welcome that progress and proud to be a dealership where respect, transparency, and empowerment come standard.

Should you buy a car at the end of the month?

The Truth About Car Buying in 2025

If you search “Should I wait to buy a car until the end of the month?”, you’ll find plenty of so-called experts insisting that end-of-the-month car buying is the golden ticket to a better deal. But here’s the reality: it’s not that simple. Real customers and dealership employees are weighing in on Reddit, and their insights tell a much more balanced story. Real User-Generated Opinions on Reddit From r/askcarsales: “Does it actually make a difference?” “Sometimes. Sometimes not. Usually not. A lazy salesman might work harder to squeeze that last unit out.” “This is a myth… the best price is the one on the website… everybody will rush to get that deal done quickly.” — Reddit Another thread: “If you want to really play hardball… go in earlier in the month... get an idea of what the price will be OTD… wait for them to call you back…” — Reddit From r/askcarguys: “Best strategies for buying at month-end?” “It has to be negotiated… dealers always want to sell a car more than you want to buy one but with most of them you wouldn’t be able to tell.” “I usually have good luck buying at the end of the month... letting them know I’m there with intention to buy… and that I want the best deal possible.” “Zero… but good luck… nice people get great deals.” — Reddit From r/KiaEV9: “It might be marginally better at the end of a month, especially if a dealership… starts making concessions they weren't earlier.” “On the other side… when books roll over on the 3rd/4th… sales might be eager to get deals done early.” — Reddit Our Take at Mount Airy Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat Click To Play Video Click To Play Video   We can’t speak for every dealership, but at Mount Airy CDJRF we don’t see buying at the end of the month as a major advantage. Here’s why: Small-town roots mean relationships matter. Our Scott McCorkle dealerships are based in small, suburban towns where our salespeople are also your neighbors. Many of our employees have been with us for over two decades. Their focus isn’t on chasing quotas—it’s on building trust and helping families come back again and again. Market conditions move faster than the calendar. Prices aren’t dictated by the date. They’re shaped by real-world factors like: Federal Reserve interest rates Supply chain disruptions (like the recent pandemic) Car model changes and discontinuations Manufacturer discounts and incentives These can affect pricing at any point in the month, not just the 30th or 31st. Pricing is more transparent than ever. Over the last decade, automakers have tightened up how much wiggle room dealers have in pricing. That means less “mystery math” and more fairness. It also helps protect long-term resale values instead of creating a race to the bottom on price. Today’s shoppers are savvy. Most buyers know the cost of ownership goes far beyond sticker price. They’re shopping interest rates, considering fuel requirements, and factoring in future maintenance costs. Those elements often make a bigger difference than shaving a few dollars off a monthly payment. Reputation speaks louder than timing. The best way to know if you’re getting a fair deal? Look at a dealership’s reviews and history. If the staff has been there for decades, consistently earns positive feedback, and works to find discounts and financing options, you can be confident they’re focused on your long-term satisfaction. Bottom Line Car buying myths like “wait until the end of the month” don’t tell the full story. At Mount Airy CDJRF, we believe the best time to buy a car is when you’ve found the right vehicle, with the right financing, at a dealership you can trust. And that’s what we aim to deliver—every single day of the month.
