Jeep, one of the most innovated and top-selling vehicle brands in America, finds new ways to impress car drivers every year—and this year is no different. With the advent of Jeep’s 80th anniversary, and the arrival of a brand-new electric vehicle, the Jeep brand is about to bring us another year of impressive automobiles.
Though there are plenty of impressive new things coming from the Jeep brand this year to talk about, such as the inclusion of a new plug-in-hybrid variant that has long been anticipated, we are just as excited about the standard, yearly updates, and the arrival of the 80th anniversary of the company—and the special “80th Edition” special features also available!
Let’s jump right in and see what’s new for the Jeep brand.
New Features and Updates this Year
SUVs:
· 2021 Jeep Cherokee
This year, the Cherokee includes a slew of standard advanced safety feature add-ons, such as Forward Collision Warning with Automatic Emergency Braking; Blind Spot Warning with Rear-Cross Traffic Alert; and Lane Departure Warning with Lane-Keep Assist.
There is also the inclusion of a new trim level, the Latitude Lux, which offers a more affordable version of luxury with premium amenities. In addition, all the Cherokee trim levels receive plenty of upgrades in comfort and performance.
· 2021 Jeep Compass (Cherokee’s little sister)
There are a few changes made to the new Compass: the addition of standard advanced safety features to all Limited trims and the Trailhawk trim level. There will no longer be an option for manual transmission in the lower trims, and there will no longer be an option for the High Altitude model.
· 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Possibly due to the focus on the soon-to-come Grand Wagoneer, the Grand Cherokee comes this year with only a handful of feature changes. The Jeep brand’s flagship SUV, the Grand Cherokee will include for 2021 a new Sun and Sound Package that adds a dual-pane sunroof, as well as, a nine-speaker stereo system (for the Limited trim levels only).
· 2021 Jeep Renegade
There are some big upgrades for Jeep’s smallest SUV. Besides the addition of standard advanced safety features across its entire lineup, there will be two new editions to join the lineup: the Jeepster Edition and the Islander Edition. The Jeepster will be the sportier of the two, while the Islander comes with a bit more panache and luxury. The interiors to both are unique and packed with cool upgrades.
· 2021 Jeep Wrangler
Out of all the 2021 Jeep models, the new Wrangler receives the most significant changes—right along with the 2021 Rubicon 392. These bad boys come with a turbocharged, 2.0-liter four-cylinder, 3.6 V-6 engine. (Which can also come with hybrid technology when combined with an automatic transmission.); there’s also a turbo-diesel, 3.0-liter V-6 available with the Wrangler Unlimited trim level. Of course, there are plenty more features and upgrades (including standard advanced safety features) that come with both Wrangler types.
Pickup Truck:
· 2021 Jeep Gladiator
Jeep’s only pickup truck, the Gladiator, comes as a turbo-diesel, 3.0-liter V-6 this year in ALL trim levels this year. Not only that, but every trim level also comes with available full-time four-wheel drive.
Moreover, the 2021 Gladiator Overland comes with an optional forward-facing TrailCam camera that helps when doing some serious off-roading. Throw in the LED headlights and fog lights (to the 2021 Gladiator Sport) and you can have some serious fun with this cool pickup.
