Ram Revolution Mount Airy

Demand continues to grow for electric vehicles, with nearly every major automaker taking significant steps towards an all-electric future. Electric compact cars have been rising in popularity for years, and trucks are beginning to hit the market one by one.

The Tesla Cybertruck has already garnered about 1.5 million reservations while the Ford F-150 Lightning and Chevrolet Silverado EV are sitting on 200,000 and 140,000, respectively.

Ram has taken a bit longer to develop its electric truck, but from what we can tell, it’s going to be well worth the wait.

Fans have been seeing concepts and learning about the 1500 EV development since early 2022 through the Ram Revolution marketing campaign. And the brand recently announced it will debut the truck by fall. Below, Mount Airy CDJRF shares everything we know about the Ram 1500 EV and explains why now is the ideal time to bring your current vehicle in for service.

What Is Ram Revolution?

Ram Revolution is a marketing campaign Stellantis launched earlier this year. Along with sharing concepts and information, the platform allows enthusiasts and customers to provide opinions and ideas on new vehicle developments.

All you have to do is sign up on the Revolution website to get involved. The brand takes fan input from its “Ram Real Talk” events into account when upgrading its lineup. Ram CEO, Mike Koval, stated that engaging with fans and receiving valuable feedback through the campaign will allow the brand to “deliver the best electric pickup truck on the market with the Ram 1500 EV.”

Ram announced in April that the all-new 1500 EV truck will debut in the fall of this year. Koval has expressed how the ideas from its Ram Real Talk are shaping the Ram 1500 EV concept. We can expect to see an evolved, refined version of the concept roll into dealerships in a couple of years.

The first Ram EV (Electric Ram Promaster) is coming in 2023, with the 1500 EV arriving in 2024. The brand has guaranteed a launch in all of its segments, though it hasn’t committed a specific number of electrics they will release by 2030.

Reservations for the Ram 1500 EV

Ford and GM are allowing customers to reserve electric trucks 12-18 months before initial deliveries. Stellantis CEO, Carlos Tavares, has indicated that customers should be able to reserve the 1500 EV well before production. But the brand is yet to provide a specific time frame.

Tavares has also said that the Ram 1500 EV will outperform all of its rivals, including the Tesla Cybertruck. And since it will not be the first electric truck in the segment, it has no choice but to be highly competitive.

Ram 1500 Pricing and Range

In 2021, Ford priced the first high-volume full-size EV pickup at $39,974 for the Ford F-150 Lightning. The Chevrolet Silverado Work Truck EV was soon followed by pricing at $39,900. With no prices released yet, we expect the Ram 1500 EV base model to come in at about $40,000.

Also, Ford and Chevrolet will likely bring down the price tags on their models to coincide with better production volume and decreasing battery costs. The Toyota electric truck and GMC Sierra Denali electric truck will also be in the mix.

It’s no secret that the Ram 1500 EV is later to the scene than the F-150 Lightning, Cybertruck, and Silverado EV. Tavares was asked if the delay could cause Ram to lose substantial market share for its best-selling pickup, to which they replied:

We are just going to accelerate, and every time we decide on a new investment on all of those four BEV focus platforms, we make the decision based on our ability to beat the competition at the moment where we hit the ground with the new products. So, of course, we predict or try to predict, what is going to be the pace of progress of our competitors, and of course, we decide our own investments and our own specs based on where we see our competitors going in a very clear competitive mindset which is to beat them when we hit the ground with the new products on those new platforms. So that’s how we think about things, and we feel that we are exactly on the right timing with the right power, and by the way, thanks to the scale of Stellantis, we are now doing this race with the other carmakers, and we are just fine about it.

Then there’s the fact that Ram will have a couple of years to observe its rivals to base its upgrades. The 1500 EV is bound to be a refined and top-tier electric truck out the gate. Sure, the brand may miss out on potential sales but can avoid some of the mistakes of its competitors.

Ram 1500 Features

Ram 1500 EV development is still underway, but we still have hints of some of the features to expect. Here’s what we know (and predict):

Platform

Since the Ram 1500 EV is set to arrive in 2024, there’s a good chance it will become the first vehicle that rides on the STLA Frame platform. Stellantis will be adding several many other models to the platform later in the same year.

Other electric pickup trucks offer a towing capacity of more than 10,000 pounds, and a top-performing Ram will need to meet that benchmark. And the 1500 EV could offer a spare wheel under the bed to compete with the F-150 Lightning.

Batteries

We know that Ram 1500 EV batteries will be manufactured in North America. Stellantis announced in 2021 that it will build a lithium-ion battery production plant in Windsor, Ontario. The facility, created in partnership with LG Energy Solution, will house an annual production of 45 gigawatt hours. Stellantis and LG Energy Solution are slated to put $3.9 million ($5 CAD) into the plant, with production beginning in the first quarter of 2024.

Stellantis also plans to establish a lithium-ion battery production facility in the United States alongside Samsung SDI. The plant will be built in Kokomo, Indiana, and produce 23 gWh per year in the first few years while scaling up to 33 gWh over time. The U.S. plant will include a joint investment of more than $2.5 billion and begin operations in 2025.

Range Extender

The Ram 1500 EV will likely come with an optional range extender system, like other STLA Frame models. This solution will help Stellantis appeal to pickup truck customers who are worried about the range and those who work jobs in remote locations with a limited number of charging stations.

In March 2022, Taveras discussed the automaker’s long-term strategic plan. He implied that an additional 1500 alternative powertrain truck is in the works, and it would make sense if it was the 1500 EV with a range extender.

The primary selling point of a range extender EV is that they provide the same range as a typical vehicle with a traditional powertrain. And cargo volume, payload, and other vital characteristics are not compromised in the process.

The range of an electric truck drops significantly when towing heavy loads, and drivers can get stranded without planning their trips accordingly. The EV charging infrastructure is making strides toward providing access to more truck owners, but there is still a long way to go. It seems that developing a work truck with an internal combustion engine and electric drivetrain would be a sensible move for Ram. Drivers could turn to the gas engine if they run out of charge, and the ICE powertrain would take care of towing requirements.

Charging

We don’t have any official specifications or features for the Ram 1500 EV. The brand stated in 2021 that the pickup truck would fast-charge at up to 150 kilowatts and provide a charging pole locator, dynamic range mapping, smartphone controls, drive mode, EV dynamic trip energy prediction, and smart charging.

A lot has changed since then. The entry-level F-150 Lightning offers 150 kW DC fast-charging, Tesla claims the Cybertruck can hit 250 kW, and GM is at 350 KW.

If Ram is going to compete, it will need to answer the call and push the boundaries a bit. In March 2022, Tavarez spoke about how Ram had made some electrical upgrades and that the 1500 EV will outshine its rivals in charging time.

Design

The Ram 1500 EV will come in a dual-cab configuration, as with most other electric pickup trucks. According to official concepts, it will feature a lower roofline, a steeper windshield, and other design elements that make it more aerodynamic than its gas-powered siblings. Expect an illuminated brand logo and signature lights in the front, and inverted L-shaped tail lights in the back.

One thing can be certain of the Ram 1500 EV: It will not forsake the brand’s rugged and raw character that customers have come to love. It may look a bit futuristic, sure. But expect bold styling.

Tavarez told MotorTrend that the 1500 EV will be visually distinguished from its ICE-powered sibling. It will have a visual identity of its own, even if it takes some customers a bit of time to get used to it.

Overall, Tavares seems genuinely confident and excited about the Ram 1500’s future. In the Stellantis long-term strategic plan, he stated:

Our Ram 1500 EV is coming to the hot pickup market in 2024. According to our internal performance index our Ram 1500 will outperform all competitors on the attributes customers care most about: range, towing, payload, and charge time. Really thrilling! It’s built on top of our new STLA Frame architecture, designed specifically for electric vehicles. Make no doubt that we will bring the best electric truck to the full-size segment!

Getting Your Vehicle Serviced

As you wait for the Ram 1500 EV to hit dealers, don’t forget to get your vehicle serviced regularly so that you can resell it at the price you hope for (or keep it as an extra car). Finding a reliable mechanic or service department is critical, especially in a day and age when repair shops are being impacted by a poor economy.

Parts and labor shortages, increased wait times, shipping delays, and increasing repair costs are affecting repair and aftermarket companies just like most other industries. Car owners in many areas of the country are waiting longer for repairs because their service providers are short-staffed, parts are unavailable, or both.

Mount Airy CDJRF has a top-notch repair team, and we’re working hard to get our customers’ vehicles fixed and out of the shop as quickly as possible. Still, we recommend bringing in your car before it actually needs to be serviced so that you can allow time for delays. Our technicians will provide you with the most accurate estimate we can and keep an open line of communication as work on your vehicle.

Conclusion

Ram customers and fans can expect great things in the years ahead. Alongside other promising models, the 1500 EV will likely turn heads and leave its competitors in the dust.

Prices for electric models will become more affordable as the EV industry evolves. And if you’re holding out until the Ram 1500 EV, now is the time to bring your current car into Mount Airy CDJRF for servicing. Don’t wait until you’re breaking down on the side of the road!

Electric Vehicles: Combatting Prices at the Pump

Jun 27, 2022
By Jon Dalton George

New Electric Cars Mount Airy

Recently, gas prices have soared to record highs. According to the American Automobile Association, the average cost per gallon in May 2022 is the highest ever recorded in US history. An especially interesting figure when you consider the previous record high was recorded in July of 2008. Costs have only increased since May, so every month consumers are paying a new record price for gas. And while we can expect prices to stabilize at some point, we can anticipate uncertainty around gas prices for the foreseeable future.

A lot of people are feeling the impact of these high gas prices, but unlike previous periods of increased fuel prices, consumers and car owners today have an answer — electric vehicles.

Consumers and car companies alike understand that the future is in electric vehicles.

We’ve seen increased production and investment by manufacturers to make EVs more affordable and accessible, and we’ve also seen a stark increase in interest related to the purchasing of EVs.

Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, and Fiat are all looking to invest and grow their electric vehicle portfolios. With choices between hybrids and outright electric vehicles spanning those respective brands, you’re likely to find the perfect car or truck that will save you money at the pump. Mount Airy Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, and Fiat is one of the best dealers for those brands, so if the price of gas has become too much, look at reaching out to a qualified sales representative and invest in an electric vehicle.

And while the easiest way to avoid pain at the gas pump and the pressure of fluctuating gas prices is to get your hands on a new electric vehicle, you may be surprised just what an EV can do in the long run. Yes, it’ll save you money, help the environment, and give you a better ride, but it’ll also do wonders for the growing gas prices. Inflation has been the driver behind these record gas rates and having to buy less at the pump is one of the best ways to drive the price of gas down. The tool to getting inflation in check is buying less and your electric or hybrid vehicle will cause you to do just that.

So, instead of waiting with bated breath for gas prices to figure themselves out, take the initiative and invest in an electric vehicle. You’ll immediately start saving money with gas prices and begin fighting the inflation that’s caused the problem in the first place. And, if you’re struggling with just what electric vehicle will fit your needs, Mount Airy CDJR has you covered. View our inventory and start your EV journey today.

Best Car for College Kids

You and your college-bound kid have plenty on your plates as you prepare to send them off to school. While it’s undoubtedly an exciting time, it also comes with its fair share of stress. Not only does your son or daughter need to register for classes, buy academic materials, and pack for the move, but they also need to think about how they will get around their new town.

Some students opt out of using a car on campus. If they have everything they need in the vicinity of their dorm room or apartment, it may not be worth the costs of fuel, registration, insurance, and repairs. After all, most parents are all about anything that reduces monthly living costs and student debt!

That being said, if your child does need a vehicle — whether they have a commute or simply want more flexibility — it’s essential to choose the right one. The car must be affordable, safe, and reliable. And it helps if it’s a model that appeals to your kid! Let’s talk about the most important factors of a student-friendly vehicle and look at nine of the best models today.

Crucial Considerations for a Student Car

There are several considerations to make when choosing what type of vehicle to purchase for your college-bound kid. Here are some of the most significant ones:

Price

The initial cost is one of the most critical factors. You essentially have two paths to take: buying a used or new car.

Most parents cannot afford to purchase a new vehicle for their teenager, making a used car the sensible and economical option. You can buy a used car at a significantly lower price point, even if it’s just three or four years old. And you can likely find a nice late-model used car with considerably low mileage.

Of course, there are perks to buying a new vehicle. While the upfront costs will be relatively higher, you probably won’t have to pay as much for maintenance and repairs while your child is in school. Plus, you don’t have to worry about accident history or high mileage, and you’ll know your child has the most up-to-date safety and convenient technology.

Safety

As a parent, safety is a critical characteristic when buying your son or daughter a vehicle. Before committing to a purchase, research the safety ratings and features of the car’s specific make, model, and year.

How did the vehicle perform in NHTSA and IIHS crash tests? Does it have automatic braking, forward collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, rearview cameras, and other driver-assist systems? The more safety features, the better.

Fuel Efficiency

Gas mileage is also an essential factor when purchasing a vehicle. With a national average of $5 per gallon, you’ll need to consider fuel efficiency whether or not your kid will have a long commute to school.

You’ll also want to think long-term.

Are you buying your teen a car solely for their time in school? Or will they need it after graduating to commute to their future job?

Hybrid models generally aren’t the cheapest options, but you might be able to find a used hybrid car at a reasonable price. Compact vehicles typically offer better fuel economy than their larger counterparts, regardless of whether they’re powered by gasoline or an electric motor.

Take time to research the EPA mileage ratings of any car you’re considering. The average is about 25 MPG combined, so try to get as close to that number as possible (or much higher).

Convenience Technology

Not surprisingly, newer vehicles offer more features and amenities than older ones. While your college-bound kid may not need the niceties of a luxury model, high-tech features can make their driving experience safer and more enjoyable.

Safety features are critical, but you also want to think about convenience technology, such as:

• An intuitive infotainment system

• Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility

• Bluetooth connectivity

• Wireless phone charging

• Wi-Fi hotspot

• Second- and third-row USB ports

• Heated and cooled seats

• A heated steering wheel

• Automatic windows

You might be hard-pressed to get all these features in a budget-friendly vehicle. The goal is to find a car that keeps your kid comfortable and minimizes on-road distractions.

Size and Maneuverability

As mentioned, small cars generally provide better gas mileage. But they’re also easier to maneuver around town and park in tight spaces — traits that can come in handy in college life. Besides, unless you’re son or daughter already has a family of their own, a larger model probably won’t benefit them very much.

Insurance and Warranty

The specific vehicle type may impact the insurance cost on your kid’s new or used car. Before committing to a purchase, research the possible insurance rates for the make, model, and year. Here are a few other factors that influence premiums:

• The vehicle’s value

• Personal driving record

• Residence

• The vehicle’s safety features

• State laws

Most new vehicles come with a 36,000-mile or 36-month limited warranty covering all components except for regular maintenance and expected wear. Most models will also provide a 60-month or 60,000-mile powertrain coverage.

9 Best Cars for College Students

So, you know what characteristics to look for in your college-bound kid’s car. We’ve listed our nine favorite student-friendly vehicles below, ranging from midsize SUVs to compact hybrids.

Much of your decision will come down to budget and preference, but each model has excellent safety ratings and provides all the basic safety and convenience technology.

1. Jeep Wrangler

Technically, the Jeep Wrangler is a midsize SUV, but it’s really in a class of its own. This is the most fun vehicle on the list to drive, but it’s also ideal for riding around a college town.

The Wrangler isn’t going to give you the best gas mileage, but it’s an iconic vehicle that’s perfect for taking weekend road trips, going on spring break, or enjoying a bit of off-roading with friends. And you can land an affordable used Wrangler by connecting with Mount Airy CDJRF!

2. Mazda CX-30

The Mazda CX-30 is about as close to a luxury vehicle as you’ll find for the money. It’s a subcompact SUV with a remarkably upscale cabin and design. It also has an 8.8-inch entertainment touchscreen, a Wi-Fi hotspot, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and plenty of other convenience technology.

The CX 30 has above-average reliability and safety ratings. It also delivers sharp handling and an all-around enjoyable driving experience. This SUV is affordable new, and you can score a genuine bargain on a used late-model.

3. Kia Forte

Speaking of bargains, it’s hard to beat the value of the Kia Forte, with new models starting at under $18,000. In fact, it won the US News and World Report 2021 Best Compact Car for the Money award.

The Forte provides a spacious cabin, competitive fuel efficiency, and an easy-to-use infotainment system. It will give you 31 MPG in the city and 41 MPG on the highway and comes with a five-year/60,000-mile basic warranty. The powertrain is covered for 10 years or 100,000 miles. The Forte is a sensible, reliable choice. Plus, it’s nice to look at!

4. Honda Civic

The Honda Civic has a well-established reputation for being one of the most reliable vehicles ever manufactured. It costs a little more than other compact sedans, such as the Kia Forte and Hyundai Elantra. But if your kid plans to drive their car well after graduation, it might be worth the higher price tag.

New and late-model Civics provide all the safety and convenience features someone might need. Lane-keep assist, forward collision warning, a rearview camera, a collision mitigation braking system, and many other driver-assist technologies come standard. The Civic is also one of the safest vehicles on the road and features Honda’s trademark sleek, modern design.

5. Toyota Corolla

You can get the Toyota Corolla in either a sedan or hatchback body, both of which are compact. The Corolla has long been one of the most popular vehicles among college students. New models come standard with Android Auto and a long list of other features and equipment.

The Corolla features a modern and attractive design. And while it isn’t the fastest or most enjoyable car to drive on this list, it’s highly efficient at 30 MPG city and 38 MPG highway. It also comes with Toyota Safety Sense 2.0, arguably the most comprehensive standard safety suite on the market.

6. Hyundai Elantra

The Hyundai Elantra is a fierce competitor of the Kia Forte. They come from the same class and offer a lower price tag than their rivals. Hyundai has built a strong reputation for reliability and value; no model demonstrates those qualities more than the Elantra.

One thing that sets the Elantra apart from the competition is its strong engine; it offers more than enough power for its size and is really fun to drive while also providing superb fuel efficiency. Your kid will also get plenty of standard technology to keep them safe and comfortable on the road.

7. Jeep Compass

The Jeep Compass is a compact crossover that balances the brand’s rugged aesthetics with a sleek, modern vibe. This vehicle might be the best value on the list, especially if you go with a used model from Mount Airy CDJRF.

The Compass looks remarkable from the outside, and the cabin is fresh, functional, and packed with plenty of technology. If you want a bit of the ruggedness offered by the Wrangler but in a more modern, compact package, this SUV could be the ideal choice.

8. Hyundai Kona

Another Hyundai model, the Kona, is a quirky subcompact SUV. Its appearance is entirely unique, and there are many funky exterior colors to choose from.

The Kona offers an all-around sporty design, a peppy engine, and athletic handling. You can even opt for a turbocharged engine if you want a little more pep. This car gives drivers a seven-inch infotainment display and essential smartphone compatibility. Front passengers will enjoy plenty of legroom, but this isn’t an ideal choice for toting around all your friends.

9. Kia Soul

The Kia Soul is another model unlike any other on the market. Its design has become a Kia trademark; it essentially looks like a large, boxy wagon that is much more spacious inside than the casual observer might think. The Soul is perfect for driving around with friends while saving on fuel costs.

This vehicle is widely regarded as one of the best subcompact SUVs in terms of value. It has many standard safety and convenience features and an excellent overall safety rating from the IIHS and NHTSA.

Ram Work Trucks

Every construction worker needs a reliable truck. As an essential piece of equipment, the right work truck can help you accomplish more in less time, keep your team safe, and even facilitate your projects. But with so many options, how do you know which model to choose? Is there a specific size, weight, and cab configuration that will suit you best? Should you go with two- or four-wheel drive?

One thing’s for sure: Your work truck needs to be tough, dependable, and able to navigate rough terrain. You’ll need to consider your specific line of work and projects to fill in the rest of the details. Below, Mount Airy CDJRF will help you do just that!

Do You Need a Commercial Truck?

Minor construction jobs may not require you to use a work truck, and you can probably get away with a smaller vehicle if most of your projects are lighter DIY jobs. But if you’re taking on bigger projects and relying on your construction jobs for income, consider that work trucks are built for long hauls and rough terrain. They also come with higher towing and payload capacities.

If you lease a commercial truck for your business, you can take advantage of the Section 179 tax deduction for 100% of lease payments in the first year. Moreover, most work trucks are designed for customization to accommodate various vocational needs. Some workers convert their trucks into cement mixers, dump trucks, snowplows, delivery trucks, tow trucks, and more.

How Do You Know What Type of Truck to Buy?

So, do you need to upfit your work truck to deliver heavy equipment, carry cement, or tow other vehicles? Will you be using your truck for long-distance trips or sticking around town? You must consider many factors when deciding what kind of work truck to purchase.

Think about how much weight you’ll need to carry and tow, and overestimate to be on the safe side. You’ll also need to determine the gross combined weight rating (GCWR) and gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR). We’ll talk more about GVWR below; GCWR refers to the truck’s total weight with a fully loaded trailer.

Configuration is also crucial because it will dictate how many crew members can ride comfortably in a single truck, and it can also influence towing space in the truck bed. And you’ll notice that most work trucks come with single rear wheels (SWR) or dual rear wheels (DRW) and a variety of drivetrains. All work truck classes are equipped with 4×2 or 4×4, impacting payload and towing capabilities:

• Rear-wheel drive (RWD)

• Front-wheel drive (FWD)

• All-wheel drive (AWD)

• Two-wheel drive (2WD, 4×2)

• Four-wheel drive (4WD, 4×4)

Finally, work trucks in all classes take either gasoline or diesel. And remember that any truck (or van) over a half-ton doesn’t receive an EPA rating.

What Is Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR)?

Every truck model is classified by GVWR, a safety standard that determines the maximum weight a truck can safely carry without overloading. GVWR is established by the manufacturer and factors in axles and other weight-bearing components as well as suspension, frame, body, tires, and other lighter elements. When setting the final GVWR, the manufacturer considers the vehicle’s net weight, fuel, cargo, and passengers.

GVWR is one of the most critical classifications for work trucks because it dictates which class the vehicle falls under. And that class determines other regulations, such as the specific licenses drivers need for operating the truck.

Another common characteristic you’ll see when shopping for work trucks is payload capacity. A half-ton work truck would conventionally hold up to 1,000 pounds in the cargo and passenger areas, a three-quarter-ton would hold up to 1,500 lbs, and a one-ton truck could carry as many as 2,000 lbs.

With that said, these payload classifications are more flexible than they used to be. It’s common for a half-ton truck to be capable of carrying 3,000 lbs.

Best Work Trucks

Dependability and function are the most important factors when building a work truck fleet. You want to make sure your crew is able to get their job done efficiently and maintain your company’s work quality.

It really comes down to quality, fuel efficiency, and technology. You don’t want a truck with lots of fiberglass or plastic; a steel shell is crucial for preventing injuries and damage to your truck.

You’ll also want to evaluate each model’s engine and horsepower while keeping an eye on its fuel consumption. More fuel-efficient work trucks are set to hit the market in the coming years, but try to find trucks that you won’t have to constantly refill. It can also help to have GPS, steering assistance, rearview cameras, and other technologies to help your crew members drive and haul materials safely.

RAM 1500 Tradesman

The 2022 RAM 1500 Tradesman comes with a 3.6-liter V-6 that produces 305 hp and 269 pounds-feet of torque. It starts at $33,975 MSRP and is equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive.

The 1500 Tradesman is designed with a unique stability feature that assists drivers hauling heavy equipment. You can use hill start assist and sway control to move the truck safely. It also provides special security features to protect both the driver and the truck itself.

Crew members will have six airbags throughout the cabin and multiple cameras around the exterior to help with challenging parking and driving situations. The RAM 1500 Tradesman pickup features a thick steel frame and door beams, safeguarding drivers and passengers safe during heavy impacts.

There are work packages and add-ons to consider for the 1500 Tradesman. The Max-Tow package ($895+) provides a Class IV receiver hitch, a full-size spare tire, a trailer brake controller, and power trailer-tow mirrors.

Construction workers in colder regions might benefit from the Snow Plow Prep Group, which starts at $195 and is available for all 4WD Quad Cab 1500 trims; a power-sliding rear window and a 220-amp alternator are the main features. Furthermore, you can add the Protection Group ($195+) to 4WD Quad Cab Tradesman models and receive tow hooks and skid plates.

RAM 1500 Laramie

The 2022 RAM 1500 Laramie is available only with the Crew Cab and starts at $46,600 (short-bed). The long-bed version starts at $46,900. This trim is a couple of steps up from the Tradesman and comes standard with genuine leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, power-adjustable seats, heated and ventilated front seats, and other key features, including:

• Forward collision warning

• Forward automatic emergency braking

• Dual-zone automatic climate control

The 1500 Laramie short-bed comes with the RamBox, a useful storage compartment in the truck bed where you can keep and easily access your tools and equipment. Adding four-wheel drive will cost $3,500. You can include an air suspension for $1,805, a V-8 engine for $2,295, or a diesel engine for $4,995.

There are a couple of packages to consider for the RAM 1500 Laramie. The Trailer-Tow Group($895+) includes a trailer brake controller, trailer reverse steering control, a Class IV receiver hitch, and a Wi-Fi hotspot, among other features. The Bed Utility Group ($350+) comes with a spray-in bed liner, a bed step, in-bed LED lighting and tie-down hooks.

RAM 2500

The RAM 2500 is a heavy-duty work truck that’s hard to beat regarding hauling, towing, and overall comfort. The 2022 versions feature a meaty 6.2-liter V-8 engine or a turbocharged diesel inline-six. It’s also built on a stronger frame and has won many awards for its wide range of features and upgrades.

Your crew members will enjoy guided parking, lane departure warning, advanced airbag technology, and a plethora of other features with the RAM 2500. This truck is widely considered to be the best all-around heavy-duty truck in its class. The 2020 version received MotorTrendTruck of the Year, and the manufacturer has made some improvements for this model year.

The truck’s gas engine is superbly responsive, and the diesel I-6 offers 850 pounds-feet of torque. Moreover, this vehicle offers a best-in-class interior and suspension, offering superior ride quality for family road trips and short commutes to the lumberyard. And the RAM 2500 costs less than its Ford and GM competitors.

RAM 3500

The RAM 3500 is essentially a beefed-up version of the 2500. It offers a 35,100-lb maximum towing and 7,680-lb maximum payload capacity. Similar to the 2500, the RAM 3500 beats its competitors in interior and ride quality. Your crew will get the same safety features as the 2500 to go with a high-strength steel frame.

The 3500 is an excellent option if you need more space and hauling capabilities. It won the 2020 MotorTrend Truck of the Year award for the same reasons as the 2500. The 2022 RAM 3500 comes with impressive tech features, such as a 12-inch display and additional driver assistance technologies. this model also comes in at a lower price point than its rivals.

RAM 4500 Chassis Cab

Need even more girth? You might consider going with the RAM 4500 Chassis Cab and its GCWR of 37,500 lbs. Equipping your crew with some of these bad boys will take your hauling capabilities to the next level. The 4500 comes standard with a 6.7-liter turbodiesel V-6 engine and a still rear frame strength of 50,000 PSI.

It’s tough to beat this truck for towing and other commercial purposes. It also offers front and rear park assistance, automatic emergency braking, adaptive forward lighting, and many other driver assistance technologies. And did we mention that it has a best-in-class interior and exterior? The RAM 4500 is also one of your top choices for upfitting.

RAM 5500 Chassis Cab

The other top choice for upfitting your rig is the RAM 5500 Chassis Cab. This is simply the best pickup truck on the market when it comes to hauling and towing capabilities. And it’s not even close.

The 2022 RAM 5500 comes with a 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 engine and a flat frame that facilitates a wide range of applications. Designed for ultimate fuel efficiency, the 5500 will go 10,000 miles on gas between oil changes while the diesel versions will go 12,000 miles.

Drivers get adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, front and rear park assistants, and adaptive forward lighting, among many other safety features. Both the 4550 and 5500 will provide your team with out-of-this-world hauling, towing, and upfitting capabilities. It really comes down to precisely how much power you need.

Conclusion

As with any line of work, you must have the proper equipment to get the most from your construction jobs. By equipping your crew with the right work trucks, you can ensure everyone is able to save time, minimize risks, and uphold the work quality your company is known for.

There’s no shortage of work trucks on the market, but those offered by RAM are better than the competition in nearly every category. Determine the towing, hauling, and upfitting capabilities you need, and invest in pickups that will get the job done. Electric Jeep 2023

Stellantis CEO, Carlos Tavares, recently announced the automaker’s strategic plan through 2030 at an Amsterdam press conference. The plan details how the brand will offer “second to none” value to stakeholders and lead the industry’s battle against climate change, ultimately aiming to reach carbon net-zero emissions by 2038.

After years of concepts and teasers, we now know that the first pure electric Jeep model is coming in early 2023. And no, it’s not an electrified Wrangler. It’s an all-new crossover, small in stature, that has yet to be named. Below, we’ll discuss everything we know (and don’t know) about the BEV joining the Jeep lineup and several other parts of the brand’s electrification plan.

The Knowns of the New Jeep BEV

Jeep has not revealed too many details about the new BEV coming next year, though we can expect more information to roll out in the coming months. With that said, the automaker has given us a look at the electric crossover’s exterior design. The images suggest the BEV resembles a sort of scaled-down version of the Jeep Compass, and there are several Renegade-like touches present as well.

A shut-off seven-slot grille is adorned with a small “e” badge in the front. Each side has a brow-like DRL on top of the smoked-out primary headlights. Moving to the back, the BEV boasts an athletic posture, not unlike a hatchback. The vehicle frame appears slightly wide proportionally, and the taillights are set in to cap off a modern, attractive design. The taillights feature the brand’s X-signature and a smoked-out appearance similar to the headlights.

The new Jeep electric SUV sports large wheel arches to house the big wheels. However, many enthusiasts expect those features to be scaled-down for production. Something else that makes the BEV stand out is its sporty split-tone floating roof design. And the rear door handles are positioned on the C-pillars (instead of the doors). Besides giving the vehicle a three-door appearance, placing the handles on the C-pillars might enhance drag co-efficiency. All and all, the Jeep BEV looks athletic yet conventional.

Some industry experts predict this vehicle will come equipped with two motors. Since it’s a Jeep, we can expect there to be a four-wheel-drive option, even if only on higher trims. Stellantis will build the electric crossover in Europe alongside other brand models that share the STLA Small platform.

The Unknowns of the New Jeep BEV

We don’t have much to go on regarding the name of the new Jeep electric SUV. In fact, all we have are the “Jeep” and “e” badges on the front and back of the vehicle. Hopefully, Jeep will soon announce what it will call the production model.

We can expect this model to ride on the same platform as other upcoming Stellantis models, such as the new Peugeot e-2008 and the Alfa Romeo Brennero. As such, the Jeep electric SUV will likely be built on the STLA Small platform (the updated version of the Peugeot EMP1 platform). The Peugeot e-208, Opel Corsa e, and Citroen DS3 Crossback all share the EV platform design. With that said, these vehicles do not come with a dual-motor option.

Some enthusiasts are worried that the BEV platform will not be able to accommodate all-wheel drive. Considering that this feature is essential to Jeep’s iconic status, it would not be surprising if the brand modifies the platform for a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system.

If the automaker alters the platform to facilitate two motors, other models that share the platform will probably start offering the same. All-wheel-drive will likely be reserved for higher-spec models instead of coming standard.

The New Electric Wrangler Concept

Jeep recently unveiled the Magneto 2.0 concept EV as the latest tease of what the iconic Wrangler may look like as a fully electric SUV. Of course, the brand released a concept last year too. But this year’s model features several performance refinements.

For instance, the Magneto 2.0’s motor now operates with a higher peak amperage and a lower RPM. It provides 625 horsepower and 850 pound-feet of torque (more than three times the torque of last year’s concept).

The new Magneto comes under the same mutant villain nameplate from the previous prototype. And it brings back the six-speed manual transmission, which is rare for an EV but in line with the 2019 Ford Mustang concept.

Visual Aspects

Another carryover feature is the “electrified” blue and white color scheme. However, the Magneto 2.0 has a more performance-oriented appearance than the first concept, and it is missing the oversized winch that last year’s model housed in its front bumper.

The front of the Magneto 2.0 is now black, and white stripes run along the body sides and meld into blue on the rear. Also, the vehicle now offers a custom bikini top, and a small “2.0” badge adorns the logo. You might remember the 35-inch tries of last year’s Magneto; the 2.0 rocks 40-inch tires that hug 20-inch rims. What’s more, Jeep has lifted the SUV three inches instead of two.

Other Details

The Mopar team stretched the Magneto’s wheelbase 12 inches wider than the gas-powered Wrangler models to make room for the electric drivetrain. This leaves the Magneto with plenty of ground clearance to weave through rough terrain and climb rocks safely; the brand has claimed that the new concept has similar proportions to the 2004 “LJ” Wrangler Unlimited.

As in the original, the Magneto 2.0 comes with a 70 kWh battery system that is split into four parts evenly distributed around the vehicle body. Perhaps the most impressive claim Jeep has made about this concept is that it will go zero to 60 mph in just two seconds (3.5 times faster than the first Magneto). If that is true, it means the Magneto 2.0 beats out the Ford Mustang Mach-E GT, GMC Hummer EV, Tesla Model X Plaid, and Rivian R1S.

We don’t know anything about the estimated battery range of the Magneto 2.0, though the brand will hopefully release more information in the coming months. Still, the concept is an exciting development and shows that the Mopar team is serious about developing and refining a fully electric production version of the Wrangler.

Stellantis’ Dare Forward 2030 Announcement

Stellantis has big hopes to positively impact families, communities, and societies over the next decade. CEO Carlos Tavares has touted the automaker’s new mindset and expanded vision to deliver innovative, affordable, and clean transportation solutions.

Stellantis has declared it will become the industry champion in the fight against climate change and become carbon net-zero by 2038.

Its hope is to reduce carbon emissions by 50% by 2030, and it has committed to achieving 100% European and 50% U.S. BEV sales within the same period.

According to the strategic plan, this will include more than 75 BEVs. Along with the first-ever fully electric SUV coming in 2023, we know that the new Ram 1500 EV is arriving in 2024.

Current and Future Jeep 4xe Models

The electric SUV and Ram 1500 EV are not the only environmentally friendly vehicles on the radar for Stellantis. The Jeep brand itself already has some PHEVs on the market while others are soon to follow.

Jeep Wrangler 4xe

The Jeep Wrangler 4xe is available in the U.S. at a starting price of $52,530. It comes in Sahara, Rubicon, and High Altitude trims, each of which is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 gas engine and two electric motors.

A 400V 17.3 kWh lithium-ion battery pack sits under the second row and powers the electric motors. This brings the combined system output to 280 kWh (375 hp) and 637 Nb (470 lb-ft) of torque. The Wrangler 4xe comes standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission and is rated for a 21-mile EV range.
Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe

The Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe is slated to arrive in spring 2022 at a starting price of $58,095. The highest trim (Summit Reserve) will sell for $74,695. The Grand Cherokee 4xe will come in five trim levels and use the same powertrain as the Wrangler 4xe.

With that said, the brand estimates the Grand Cherokee 4xe will provide 25 miles of EV range. This vehicle’s towing capacity is rated at 6,000 lbs.

Jeep Renegade 4xe

Consumers can currently purchase the Jeep Renegade 4xe in Europe, and the next Renegade generation will see a fully electric version. Industry experts predict that the EV version will arrive by early 2024. The vehicle will likely be built on the STLA Medium platform and slot just above the all-new EV crossover coming next year.

There’s a slight chance the Renegade EV will ride on the eCMP platform. But if Jeep uses the STLA Medium architecture, the SUV will provide at least a 440-mile electric range.

Jeep Compass 4xe

As with the Renegade, the Compass PHEV has already hit the European market. And Stellantis predicts a Compass 4xe EV release by 2025. This vehicle will undoubtedly ride on the STLA Medium architecture and accommodate battery packs ranging from 87 to 104 kWh. The multiple range variants will put off-roaders at ease since they will be able to take a Compass EV off the beaten path without worrying about range.

Jeep Grand Wagoneer 4xe

We expect the Grand Wagoneer 4xe EV sometime in 2024, and it will come become the most expensive Jeep with a starting price of $100,000. We can also anticipate Jeep to uphold the vehicle’s luxury status by throwing a bunch of elaborate add-ons into the mix.

Reports suggest that the Grand Wagoneer EV could bypass the conventional EV styling of a smoothed-out grille and aerodynamic-optimized bumpers and wheels. Expect Jeep’s trademark seven slots to be seen whether or not the grille is closed. And we know that the charging port will be located on the left front fender for easy charging access when parked.

The Grand Wagoneer EV is already getting special attention in the auto industry. Jeep CEO, Christian Meunier, stated in July 2021 that the vehicle was like “magic” and unlike any other vehicle ever developed. He also offered that it will deliver “very very strong acceleration.”

Conclusion

Exciting things are on the horizon for Jeep and other Stellantis brands. Not only is the family of brands dedicating the next decade to combatting climate change, but it has also resolved to take actionable steps to improve the everyday lives of families and communities where it operates. Only time will tell whether Stellantis will reach its carbon net-zero emissions goals, but even if they make it halfway, it’s excellent progress.

If you are in the market for a small EV crossover, it could be worth waiting for the new Jeep to arrive in 2023. Keep up to date on new details and teasers the brand releases in the coming months to get a better idea of whether or not the vehicle is the perfect choice for you. Electric Ram 1500

At this point, all the leading pickup truck manufacturers have announced plans to release a fully electric model in the coming years. But none may be more impressive than the 2024 Ram 1500 EV.

Sure, Ford and GM will already have models on the market when the 1500 EV arrives. But if teasers and concepts are anything to go by, the Ram will be in a league of its own. Below, Mount Airy CDJRF talks details of the upcoming Ram 1500 EV!

The Ram Revolution

Last year, Stellantis announced it would be releasing a fully electric Ram 1500 in 2024. Since then, the company has given fans a few teasers, suggesting the design will depart from the gas-powered 1500. So far, however, it doesn’t appear that the Ram EV will be as extreme in appearance as the Tesla Cybertruck or Rivian R1T.

Recently, Ram started the “Ram Revolution” campaign through which it asks fans to help determine the features and priorities for the upcoming EV. The brand expects to regularly update enthusiasts about its electric truck philosophy on its website, including unique content and visuals. A Stellantis spokesperson described the campaign as “an ongoing dialogue that will include the opportunity to provide input as Ram EV trucks are developed.”

The most recent teaser renders the Ram 1500 EV with an overall rounded profile and side-body sculpting that seamlessly blends into the truck bed. The bed appears shielded by aerodynamic sides at the front.

What We Know About the Ram 1500 EV

The 2024 Ram 1500 EV will be the brand’s first fully-electric half-ton pickup. Ram plans to build the truck on the STLA Frame platform and include its standard all-wheel-drive system.

The automaker says the 1500 EV will be able to travel 500 miles on a charge and tow 10,000 or more pounds. Additionally, the brand has guaranteed autonomous driving capabilities and super-fast charging speeds of 150 kWh.

As mentioned, other automakers are releasing their EV trucks sooner. Ford will introduce the F-150 Lightning during the 2022 model year, and the 2023 Chevy Silverado EV will soon follow. Waiting until 2024 may give Ram an advantage because it can learn from its competitors’ missteps.

Towing and Payload

Ram is yet to announce specific numbers for the 1500 EV’s towing capabilities. And it hasn’t mentioned anything about payload capacity. The automaker has promised fans that the fully electric pickup truck will pull more than each of its competitors. Since the official towing capacity of the F-150 Lightning is 10,000 lbs, we can anticipate the Ram 1500 to be more than that.

Range and Charging

We do not have any concrete details about the battery size or charging times of the 2024 Ram 1500. However, the brand has claimed the half-ton pickup will offer a 500-mile driving range. Considering the F-150 Lightning is estimated to travel for no longer than 300 miles per charge, that’s quite impressive. Furthermore, the Ram EV will come with a DC fast charger that can supposedly charge the battery at 150 kWh.

Pricing Estimates

Ram has not released official pricing for the all-electric 1500, nor has it hinted at what trim levels it will offer. We don’t know much about standard and optional equipment either. With that said, many experts estimate that the Ford F-150 Lightning will come out the gate at about $42,000 MSRP and increase slightly over the next several years. We anticipate the 2024 Ram 1500 EV to start at around $45,000 MSRP based on our limited information.

The Range Extender

The Ram 1500 EV’s driving range (500 miles) will be much longer than its rivals. But there’s another feature that will give drivers even more mileage on a charge: a range extender. No other EV trucks currently offer a range extender as an option (though Ford has patented a removable version).

The device is essentially a combustible engine that recharges the pickup’s battery. Since towing can dramatically impact efficiency and range, the Ram’s range extender could be desirable for drivers who regularly pull heavy items.

Conclusion

Automakers produce more all-electric models each year, but the half-ton trucks slated to hit the market might be the most exciting. After all, who doesn’t want a powerful pickup with all the advantages of an EV?

Judging by the limited information available, we expect the 2024 Ram 1500 EV to blow people’s minds. Remember to join the Ram Revolution if you would like to contribute ideas to the truck’s development. A Year of Surprises

Mar 8, 2022
By Jon Dalton George

The past two or so years have been full of surprises. Between economic swings, new monetary innovations, and once-in-a-lifetime events happening weekly, we’ve gotten used to seeing new records. Markets have seen new highs (and lows). Something like the state of the current housing market is a great example of these unique circumstances.

Car sales are no different and, interestingly enough, used car sales have become stronger than ever. Mount Airy Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram and Fiat understands the value of your used car and is a dealership perfect for your potential trade-in.

In 2021 average new car prices soared to a new high, traveling upwards at over 10% to get there, a result of the tried and true supply and demand. Kinks in the supply chain and an increase in demand have made car sales a world built for the seller.

If you’ve been sitting on a used car, looking at it as a backup, you’re not alone. That extra car in your driveway could yield much more than you could imagine, and there’s never been a time like the present to list it.

The State of the Used Car Market

When saying that the market is one built for the seller, you could argue you’re understating just how easy it is to make money from a used car.

Anyone who’s browsed a dealership, or even glanced at the price of new cars, sees prices that would shock the system. Those record new car prices are followed by record used car prices, a total increase across the board.

The current average value for a trade-in is somewhere around $9,852, which is over an 88% increase from last year.

Low-interest rates incentivize buyers to meet that average or possibly go beyond.

Even more impressive, at the end of 2021, the average used car was selling for over $28,000! That cost was higher than some newer vehicles, especially new vehicles offered at a deal.

This high price tag is looking destined to stay for some time. New cars frequently rely on countless parts that are a result of collaboration from many different manufacturers.

Once production facilities shut down as the COVID-19 pandemic came closer to home, access to car parts became limited, causing the production to slow. One of the main culprits of the market’s slowing is the shortage of computer chips.

Car manufacturers, computer companies, and other producers of modern technology fought over the limited supply of computer chips. That left new car production, one reliant on those chips, in an uncomfortable place, especially when it happened alongside an increase in demand for those new cars.

That shortage won’t last forever, so if you’re looking to sell a used vehicle you should aim to do so soon. Still, playing catchup to the slowing in car production will take some time, so consumers can expect prices to stick around as long as catching up takes.

Selling A Used Car

Dealing with the financial responsibility of any major investment can be daunting, and selling your car isn’t too different.

First, it’s vital you get your ducks in a row. It’s extremely important to make sure you have the necessary paperwork before thinking about selling your used car.

A title is the most important component of transferring a car’s ownership. For those of you who may still owe money on your car loan, the lender will have your title. You’ll have to pay your loan balance in full before the title can be transferred to the car’s new owner.

In North Carolina, you only need a bill of sale when purchasing a vehicle from a car dealership. But if you’re out of state you may need to look into additional information before taking the leap on the listing.

Obtaining maintenance and repair records is not a required step but likely one to guarantee you’ll get the most from your car, especially if you’ve invested a lot to keep it in great shape. Organized details of your vehicle’s history can go a long way to make any potential buyers feel more secure in their purchase.

Who To Sell To

The leg work to prepare a car for sale is one thing; finding who to sell it to is a completely different animal. You could go to a car dealer, list the car on a local community classified, or go to a third-party website. Each option has its own unique benefits.

With the demand for used cars ever-increasing, manufacturers, dealers, and individuals across the country may be looking to get their hands on your used ride. While you know you’ll have the proper audience, you also want the perfect buyer. Making sure you have responsible and trustworthy buyers is one of the most important aspects of used car sales.

While you may be contemplating going about this endeavor on your own, as a way to ensure you’ll have your hands on all the profit, you’d be surprised at how difficult it can be. Listing your car on your own can provide quite the challenge. People scheduled for a meeting may never show up, you may encounter someone absolutely set on a low-ball offer, or even worse, you could invite a sketchy person to your home.

Selling to a dealer absolves you of all of those responsibilities and removes the likelihood of those negative possibilities. Dealers know how to get the most for a trade-in. That allows them to offer you a good chunk of the pie. They can also detail and bring the car to an even better condition, giving you a higher ceiling for a selling price. But like anything, you’ll want to make sure it’s a dealership you can trust.

Mount Airy Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram and Fiat is a dealership that can do a lot. With an intuitive “Value Your Trade” option you can get an estimate entirely online, making the process an easily accessible one.

With overwhelmingly positive reviews, you can feel confident in getting the most out of your used car and the easiest road to a return on your initial investment. Why worry about the hassle of individual listing and marketing, the stress of the meetings and test drives? Eliminating that added pressure and going to a reputable dealer is the best way to get bang for your buck.

If you’re still committed to the challenge of selling your car on your own, you still have options.

Dealerships, like Mount Airy Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram and Fiat, and some 3rd party websites, offer handy valuing tools that can empower the rationale behind your pricing. Though after listing on your own there are a few important things to be cognizant of.

Here are three handy tips for those selling a car on their own:

  • Look at your potential buyers with some skepticism. Individuals who offer to buy the car without seeing it are an immediate red flag. Be careful of out-of-state checks or cashier’s checks; both are commonly used as a scam on sales by the owner.
  • Maintain a paper trail. A concern you have that you wouldn’t have with a dealer is the possibility of a buyer taking advantage of vague paperwork. Something like rounding the miles on the odometer can keep liability on you, even when they’ve driven off.
  • Finally, be calculated when you schedule a test drive or viewing. As a rule of thumb, try to meet in a public area, not your home or somewhere you frequent.

Final Thoughts

Whatever way you choose to list or part with your used car or truck, just know it’s the right time to sell. Making the decision to part with a big investment is a challenging one. I hope that this writing can provide you with a bit more confidence to navigate that decision.

Whether you go about selling your car on your own or choosing a reputable dealer, be sure you protect yourself and your investment in the process.

And who knows, after parting with your tried and true used car, you may be ready for a new one off the lot.

Take care and happy selling!

J. Dalton George

Few vehicles have as loyal a following as the Jeep Wrangler. For more than three decades, the off-road SUV has been well-loved for its ruggedness, performance, dependability, and many other qualities. Jeep doesn’t redesign the Wrangler very often because it doesn’t need to. The vehicle is currently in its fourth generation and consistently one of Jeep’s top sellers.

All this to say that there is no substitute for a Jeep Wrangler. But that doesn’t mean it’s the perfect SUV for everyone straight from the factory. Many people see their Wrangler as a foundation for upgrades, which brings us to the point of this article:

If you want to upgrade your new or used Jeep Wrangler, hundreds of accessories are at your fingertips.

Sifting through all the products could be an overwhelming experience. But don’t worry — Mount Airy CDJR put together a list of our 14 favorite Jeep Wrangler accessories available today!

1. Jeep Donut Doors

We’ll start with a feature that could be offered soon by Jeep itself. Even casual onlookers can recognize the war between Jeep and Ford in recent years, with each making moves to reign in the 4×4 segment. With that said, the release of the highly anticipated Ford Bronco has fueled the flames even more. The latest skirmish is over doors.

You can get both the Wrangler and Bronco with half doors. And while Ford has been producing intuitive designs, there is a Jeep patent that has recently come to the surface, and it could put the Wrangler manufacturer back in the driver’s seat: the donut door.

Few vehicles in recent history have been hyped up like the reborn Bronco before it launched last year. And one of the favorite features for fans was the donut doors that showed up in concepts and marketing materials. Unfortunately, those doors never actually made it into production, which disappointed a lot of people. Jeep is looking to step into that space and has published its own donut door patent for the Wrangler.

Stellantis stated that they had had the concept for more than three years. The minimally labeled “Automobile” patent includes several drawings of the donut doors with a brief description: “The ornamental design for an automobile as shown and described.”

Donut doors appeared on a 2018 JL-body truck, but Jeep never produced the concept. And the doors in the new patent documents give a different look than those on the JL-body.

It is promising that Jeep has been experimenting with donut door designs for years, and now that the Wrangler-Bronco rivalry is peaking, we can expect a race to release these eye-catching door designs. The first manufacturer to deliver on their promise is bound to steal some fans!

2. Alien Sunshade Mesh Shade Top Cover

The Alien Sunshade Mesh Shade Top Cover can protect your passengers and interior as you enjoy the open air on the highway. You can get it in a range of styles and colors, as well as graphics (e.g., American, Texas, or Canadian flag). It’s compatible with two- and four-door 2007-2017 Jeep Wrangler models.

This cover will even add a touch of luxury to your Wrangler by reducing wind noise, and it will go a long way in reducing UV exposure. It comes with woven PVC mesh, double-sewn edges, and durable metal grommets. And the best part? You don’t need any tools or equipment for installation; all you have to do is attach the bungee cords to the roll bars for a secure fit.

3. Dewstone FreeForm Easy-Install Adventure Mirrors

If you want to add even more ruggedness to your Wrangler, these mirrors will do the trick. The name says it all: The Dewstone FreeForm Easy-Install Adventure Mirrors can be installed in minutes, and their vibration-dampening cross brace will increase visibility as you take the road less traveled.

If tail lights are what you need, or if you find that you love the headlights above, you should check out the LX-LIGHT 4D LED Tail Lights. These high-quality LED lights include built-in EMC to prevent flickering. These lamps burn three times brighter than stock Wrangler tail lights. The IP67 waterproof-certified tail lights come in a package of two and offer 50,000 hours of life

One of the best things about the LX-Light 4Ds is that you can use your existing circuit wires for easy installation. Whether you’re driving, reversing, or braking, these lamps will get the job done at an affordable price.

6. XBEEK Tail Light Covers

Whether you’re rocking stock or aftermarket tail lights, it’s always good to add a level of protection for them. The XBEEK Tail Covers will do just that. These American flag covers are created with rust and debris-resistant aluminum alloy, and they’re the perfect way to give your Jeep Wrangler a patriotic flair.

There’s no need to drill holes for these covers. Each includes a 3M adhesive, which makes for fast installation and removal and keeps the covers secure in various conditions.

7. Smittybilt GEAR Black Front Seat Covers

The GEAR Front Seat Covers come in coyote tan, olive green, or black, and they incorporate an American or Canadian flag emblem on the seatback (easily removed). You will also get seven storage pockets in various sizes. These covers fit all Jeep models, and as with anything made by Smittybilt, they are of the highest quality.

The Bartact Seat Covers are a sportier option that form-fit to 2013-2017 Wrangler JKs. The two customizable pouches on each cover measure 8 x 7.5 x 2 inches; you can configure the covers and pouches however you like.

The Bartact Seat Covers are available in a black/coyote tan scheme and come in a package of two. One of the coolest aspects of these covers is that they offer two complimentary MOLLE system pouches for each seat. Plus, they are made in the USA, which is difficult to come by these days!

These covers are hard to beat if you want quality, durability, and aesthetic appeal.

9. Sunpie Center Console Armrest Pad Cover with Storage Bag

The Sunpie Center Console Armrest Pad Cover with Storage Bag is designed for specific 2011-2017 Jeep Wrangler models. It’s made from neoprene and is perfect for pet owners. In fact, the top of the armrest features a Jeep paw prints logo!

The heavy-duty neoprene helps protect your armrest and only takes seconds to install. It also comes with a storage bag for conveniently storing your phone and other items. And since you can wash it, this armrest cover will last for a long time.

10. JeCar Mesh Cargo Net

If you’re looking for a cargo wrap-around net that converts your Wrangler’s roof into a hammock, this model by JeCar is an excellent choice. It’s easy to install and offers a 220-lb weight capacity.

You can use the JeCar Mesh Cargo Net for additional storage space or for taking a rest on your trips. Measuring 61.5 x 19 inches, you can install this net without a hitch. Along with using the included reinforced Velcro tape, there are several other ways to install it.

11. Bestop All Weather Trail Cover

This vehicle cover was developed to protect the doors and cabin of a Jeep Wrangler. Made of waterproof fabric, the Bestop Charcoal Weather Trail Cover will shield your SUV from rain, wind, and extreme temperatures.

The cover is available in Charcoal/Gray and Spicy colors and weighs roughly 10 lbs. The BeltRail Channel System provides a snug fit, and you can quickly fasten the cover to your Wrangler with the adjustable nylon straps provided.

Some Jeep owners have used this cover without removing their soft-top or hardtop. However, you will need to gauge whether it fits too tight on your specific model. Most people take off their roofs for an ideal fit.

12. Bestop HighRock Under Seat Lock Box

This is perhaps the most discreet accessory on the list. The Bestop HighRock Under Seat Lock Box will seamlessly fit under the driver’s seat of any 2007-2018 four-door Wrangler and 2007-2010 two-door Wrangler. It is made of 16-gauge carbon steel and finished with a textured black powder coat.

This lockbox will keep your valuables hidden and secure and comes with a pick-resistant cylinder lock. And because it only requires the factory seat riser bolts, it’s a simple device to install. It measures 17 x 7.5 x 3.75 inches on the exterior and 16 x 5.75 x 2.78 inches on the interior.

The lockbox will not fit any two-door Jeep Wrangler models 2011 and above. But if you have a 2011-2012 Wrangler Limited, you can install it by making minor modifications.

13. Danti Roll Bar Grab Handles

Do you need to invest in some high-quality grab bars without breaking the bank? The Danti Roll Bar Grab Handles are worth considering. They come in standard and heavy-duty formats. You can get the standard grab bars in black, red, or blue, and the heavy-duty versions include the same options with the addition of camo.

These weather-resistant, non-slip handles will keep passengers safe on rough terrain, and you can install them in minutes with no tools. They’re manufactured with canvas and ABS and are designed for 1995-2018 Jeep Wranglers.

14. ApolloIntech Overhead 6-Switch Pod / Panel

If you like taking your Wrangler on the road less traveled, you need an overhead switch panel. The ApolloIntech Overhead 6-Switch Pod/Panel is among the best on the market.

You can get this switch panel in a standard or pro version with blue, green, or red backlights. It’s specifically designed for the 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler models, and it features diodes to protect vulnerable components (like your new LED lights!) from field collapse.

The 6-Switch Pod/Panel fits many V-Series Contura rocker switch covers, including versions II through VII and XIV. This plug-and-play device will put out 100 amps and could be the perfect solution for your Wrangler.

Conclusion

The Jeep Wrangler is a one-of-a-kind SUV, and it has the following to prove it. But one thing that makes it so unique is that it can accommodate a wide range of upgrades and accessories.

If you’re looking to make your Wrangler stand out from others, start your research with the products above. And don’t forget to bring your vehicle into Mount Airy CDJR for some top-notch service!

Family SUV Near Me

Buying a new vehicle will likely be one of the biggest investments you ever make. Car shopping can be overwhelming for anyone, but it can especially be daunting when you’re looking for a vehicle that will accommodate a growing family. Your family’s dream model will need more than aesthetic appeal and horsepower. There are many factors to consider, such as:

• Vehicle size

• Interior

• Seating

• Cargo room

• Safety systems

• Entertainment tech

Safety, functionality, and budget will dictate your decision regarding which vehicle to purchase.

You essentially want something that will get everyone from A to B safely without anyone losing their minds.

We know—it’s a tall order! But Mount Airy CDJR is here to help you find the ideal vehicle. Let’s discuss some of the best family models on the market and how you can prepare for your new car purchase.

Best Family Vehicles

This model year, you have plenty of options from Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep. Here are some of the best choices for families:

Chrysler Pacifica

2022 Chrysler Pacifica

If it’s cargo, capacity, and practicality you are after, it’s hard to beat a top-notch minivan like the 2022 Chrysler Pacifica. This model continues to win awards for being the most comfortable, functional, and handsome minivan on the market. Drivers have a choice between a V-6 or plug-in powertrain. You can even get all-wheel drive if you want.

The Pacifica drives more like a large SUV with refined steering and a responsive powertrain. Perfect for hauling several kids and adults, the spacious and attractive cabin can provide even more room when folding the second and third rows flat. Know that the base Pacifica costs a bit more than its rivals because the entry-level trims of this model are made under the Chrysler voyager nameplate.

The 2022 Pacifica gains an in-cabin air-filtration system along with the available Amazon Fire TV feature, which lets passengers connect to their favorite movie and TV streaming services when equipped with an optional rear-seat entertainment system. When the vehicle is parked, front passengers will also see the media on their infotainment screen. Additionally, the Pacifica Hybrid comes with a new Silver Mist exterior color and receives the Max Regeneration gauge cluster indicator.

Dodge Durango

If your family is looking for a little extra muscle in your commute, don’t look over the 2022 Dodge Durango. The standard V-6 is powerful, and this three-row SUV’s towing capacity beats most competitors. It also comes with an optional V-8 engine for even more power.

The Durango has been around for a long time, and it upholds its muscle-car mystique now more than ever. Its three rows of seats will accommodate the entire family, but keep in mind that only the kids will be comfortable in the third row during long trips. More than enough infotainment tech comes standard in the Durango to go with a ton of available driver-assistance features.

The 2022 model year sees several changes and upgrades for the Durango. The SXT trim receives blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, and roof rails. Remote start, a power-operated rear liftgate, and heated front seats are standard on the GT model.

The GT Plus sees rain-sensing windshield wipers, leather and suede seats, and driver memory settings. If you want to go big, consider the R/T Plus trim, which gets advanced automated emergency braking, a sunroof, Nappa leather upholstery with contrast stitching, and many other features.

Jeep Grand Cherokee

The Grand Cherokee has long been one of the essential pieces in Jeep’s success. Not only does this model impress with off-road capability, but it also provides refined on-road performance to go with a slew of luxury features. And it accomplishes all of this while maintaining the rugged appeal that attracts Jeep buyers.

The 2022 Grand Cherokee is available with a V-6, V-8, or plug-in hybrid powertrain. The models powered by the V-6 come standard with rear-wheel drive, but there are three different all-wheel-drive systems available to meet a range of family needs.

This year marks a new generation for the Grand Cherokee. Jeep completely redesigned the 2022 models on a new architecture. It strikes a balance between luxury and ruggedness better than any previous generation.

The Limited trim comes with standard leather seats, heated front and rear seats, power-adjustable front seats, remote start, automatic high-beam headlamps, and interior ambient lighting. If you are looking for a two-row SUV that gives you a taste of the luxury offered by the Wagoneer, then this could be the perfect match for your family.

Jeep Grand Cherokee L

Jeep released the first Grand Cherokee L last year, offering a smaller option for Wagoneer fans. This model is essentially a three-row version of the Grand Cherokee, and it provides impressive off-road and on-road capability in its own right.

The Grand Cherokee L is ideal if you have a large family that loves to go on adventures. It comes standard with a ton of driver-assistance features and display screens. Even the lower trims provide a refined and comfortable cabin, and the high-end models offer a full-fledged luxury experience.

The Grand Cherokee L saw minor upgrades in its second year, such as an optional dual-screen rear-seat entertainment system with Amazon Fire TV compatibility. And buyers of the Limited and above trims can opt for a 10.3-inch dashboard screen for the front passenger. Also, you can now get the Limited version with the Black appearance package (gloss black exterior accents and black 20-inch wheels).

The High Altitude package is optional for the Grand Cherokee L Summit, including 21-inch wheels and many other upgrades. And there are three additional exterior colors: Midnight Sky, Hydro Blue, and Ember.

Jeep Wagoneer

Along with its bigger sibling (Grand Wagoneer), Jeep is bringing back the Wagoneer in 2022. This three-row SUV offers plenty of space for large families and a cabin unmatched by any of its rivals.

The Wagoneer comes with an impressive V-8 engine and will tow up to 10,000 pounds. It is one of the most attractive and tech-laden cabins to date. While it comes standard with rear-wheel drive, this SUV has multiple four-wheel-drive systems available to go with an air suspension, which adds even more off-road prowess.

As previously mentioned, the Wagoneer is all-new for 2022, even though it’s an iconic nameplate. If you have the budget for it and are looking for even more luxury, look into the mechanically similar Grand Wagoneer.

Jeep Compass

The 2022 Jeep Compass compact crossover for smaller families is a handsome-but-capable vehicle to consider. With the right upgrades, the Compass can excel off the beaten path. Fitting right between the Renegade and the Cherokee in size, the Compass now has a higher quality cabin than in previous versions.

Along with more modern technologies, the interior provides a fresher overall aesthetic. As one of the most affordable Jeep models available, many buyers praise the vehicle for its beautiful and rugged nature.

Several updates come with the model year 2022 for the Compass. The front end has been redesigned to appear more upscale, and a new dashboard ups the interior appeal. Jeep has even added a tablet-style touch screen to go with the latest Uconnect infotainment system.

A new trim joins the lineup; the Latitude Luxe comes with all-wheel drive, a larger touchscreen, leather seats, and many other features. Look for a plug-in hybrid option to appear later in the year.

How to Get Your Dream Car

So, you know the vehicle you want to buy for your family, but you need to figure out the finances. A car is one of the most significant purchases you can make, so you need to be sure you can afford your dream car before you make it a reality. Otherwise, you can put yourself and your family in a bad spot. Consider these tips when shopping for your next car:

Make Sure It’s the Right Time

The last thing you want is to add financial stress to your household. And if you try to buy your dream car before you are ready, that can happen. Not only do you need to be able to afford the down payment, but you also must consider your monthly payments if you are not paying in cash. Without making budget adjustments and having the income necessary, you can end up in crippling debt and unable to pay on your vehicle.

Another thing to consider is that you don’t want to commit to more work than you can realistically handle because that will also add stress to your family life and lead to a lower quality of life. The key is to find a balance of making sure your family has what they need without overextending yourself. Try not to be discouraged if a new car purchase is just not in the cards at this time, and keep saving until you are in a better spot.

Figure Out Your Expenses

If you are not 100% certain that you can afford a new car, take time to go through all of your expenses. This is key to creating a budget that will help you reach your goals. Write out all of your fixed costs, and keep track of your unfixed expenses for the next month by saving receipts and keeping up with your online banking.

Once you know all of your expenses, make a categorized spreadsheet that will quickly show you where your money is going. Understanding your costs will allow you to develop a plan for saving.

For instance, are there any unnecessary costs you can eliminate? Maybe this means dining out less, opting for a streaming service over cable, or waiting to buy that new pair of shoes. You might be surprised by how much you can improve your spending habits without lowering your quality of life.

Make a Budget

Having a budget is essential for any family. Without creating and sticking to a well-defined budget, it can be challenging to stay financially healthy. Along with creating a spreadsheet, look into the many budgeting apps on the market. You can find apps designed for personal finance, families, small businesses, and many other categories.

The key is to make sure your budget is realistic; otherwise, you could set yourself up for failure.

Make sure your family has everything they need, but keep track of where every dollar is going. And, of course, you will need to allocate money for your new car purchase so that you can direct your savings appropriately.

Increase Your Credit Score

Most people don’t buy new cars with cash. So, if your dream family vehicle costs a little more than you can pay upfront, then you will need to have a good credit score to secure financing.

As long as you get good terms, financing is an excellent option to buy a new car. But it may not be easy if you have a poor credit score. Though you may still qualify for a loan, it will likely come with high interest rates and limit you to a low price point.

Perhaps the most straightforward way of raising your credit score is getting a credit card and making consistent payments. But remember not to use your credit card for every purchase because you don’t want to build up overwhelming debt.

You can also make a plan for tackling all of your current debts and taking care of any bills that are past due. As you pay off everything you can, you will notice your credit score gradually increasing.

Boost Your Income

Increasing your income is another way to improve your financial situation and get a good auto loan. While this means getting a second job for some, there are other ways to boost your income.

For example, maybe you could invest a portion of your income in a high-interest fund to leave you with more money at the end of the year. Or, perhaps you could start a side hustle as a dog walker, Uber driver, or tutor. These days, you have more options than ever to boost your income without compromising your family’s quality of life.

Look Into Financing

Finally, be careful when it comes to financing your new vehicle. You may have several options, such as going through your bank, getting a pay-day loan, and so on. But your safest route might be going through the dealership.

For example, Mount Airy CDJR allows you to apply for financing even before coming to the dealership. Our secure, simple online form will collect any necessary information to approve you for a loan amount and interest rate that fits your situation.

We also keep the application process private and make it as easy as possible for our customers. Also, check out our special deals like those mentioned above! We also offer programs for students, military members, realtors, home builders, entrepreneurs, and many others.

Conclusion

It doesn’t get much bigger than a new vehicle when it comes to big-ticket items. As you shop for a new car, remember to look for models that will provide the size, interior, seating, cargo room, safety features, and entertainment technologies that your family needs and wants.

And if you are not able to pay cash for a new car, consider the budgeting and saving tips above as you prepare for your investment without compromising your family’s financial standing. 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Near Me

Most, if not all, vehicles have at least one competitor that serves as a fair comparison. That’s not the case with the 2022 Grand Wagoneer. The revived nameplate of Jeep’s full-size luxury SUV is in a league of its own. There is simply not an SUV—or vehicle, for that matter—today that it compares to.

From the stunning cabin materials to the 23-speaker McIntosh sound system to the uber-smooth ride and handling, the new Grand Wagoneer has exceeded expectations and gives drivers everything they have wished for over the past 30 years. It will be arriving at dealerships soon, so Mount Airy CDJRF thought it appropriate to discuss the 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer in more detail!

Performance Features

The 2022 Grand Wagoneer excels in almost every category, including performance. Let’s take a closer look at the engine, ride, handling, and other factors that make this large SUV such a beast!

Powertrain

A 6.4-liter V8 engine motivates the Grand Wagoneer with 471 horsepower. The beefy engine is matched with an eight-speed automatic transmission with a silky and timely response.

Given the size of this SUV, you might be shocked by how energetic the V8 feels. Whether you’re trying to merge onto the highway, accelerate from a stop sign, or pass the driver ahead of you, the Grand Wagoneer is surprisingly quick. In fact, you can take the SUV from zero to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds and to a quarter-mile in only 4.1 seconds at 99.1 mph. It leads the class in that category.

Ride and Handling

The Grand Wagoneer feels substantial in a wide range of driving situations. Though massive, it’s also pleasant to drive. If you were judging it by drivability and not size, you might think the SUV is more of a smaller crossover. It is even easy to maneuver in the city and in parking lots.

It’s not a sporty vehicle by any means, but the Grand Wagoneer keeps its composure around corners and bends. And the suspension system is exceptional; drivers get a cushioned ride whether the road is smooth or rough.

Towing and Fuel Economy

The maximum towing capacity for the Grand Wagoneer is 9,850 pounds. Drivers get standard Trailer Sway Control, which goes a long way in securing your trailer in various road and weather conditions. You can opt for a trailer brake controller as well.

Perhaps the only downside of the Grand Wagoneer is that it only provides 13 mpg in the city and 18 mpg on the highway. But when you consider the plethora of perks this vehicle offers, you might be willing to overlook the subpar gas mileage.

Off-Road Capabilities

It may be a luxury SUV, but the Grand Wagoneer can hold its own off the beaten path. Standard performance features include a two-speed transfer case, a limited-slip differential, a terrain management system, hill descent control, rear load-leveling, and an adaptive air suspension system—all of which come together to give drivers impressive off-road capability. The full-size SUV can drive through two feet of water too!

Interior Quality

Competitors must be drooling over the 2022 Grand Wagoneer’s cabin. In a word, it’s stunning. There are simply no other large SUVs that come close regarding the elegance and style of the Grand Wagoneer’s interior.

Cabin Materials

Top-shelf materials adorn the cabin from top to bottom. Lush soft-touch surfaces combine with the Wagoneer’s iconic wood grain accents to form a breathtaking interior.

Luxury Tech

The Grand Wagoneer leads the class when it comes to its infotainment system. But there’s a caveat; there are many features and displays, so it may take you a little time to learn your way around the system. But once you do understand it, you’ll love it. Jeep’s Uconnect interface is among the most intuitive on the market, and you’ll enjoy how easy-to-see and responsive the touchscreen is.

The front passenger seat comes with an interactive display that allows you to employ four different functions. You can control navigation and devices with the Co-Pilot feature and entertainment through the Rear Seat Entertainment control or HDMI.

You can also manage the Fire TV for Auto and monitor the vehicle’s exterior cameras. Additionally, the front and rear-passenger displays allow you to connect your phone with an HDMI cable, which you can then mirror to the primary infotainment touchscreen.

All Grand Wagoneers come standard with a 12-inch touchscreen, navigation, satellite radio, HD Radio, several USB ports, Bluetooth connectivity, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a 19-speaker McIntosh sound system. Drivers also get a wireless charging pad and Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa compatibility.

If you want to take your Grand Wagoneer comfort to absurd levels, you can opt for a 23-speaker McIntosh sound system as well as a dual-screen rear-seat entertainment set-up and interactive front passenger display. Also coming standard are the 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, a 10.25-inch second-row display, remote start, quad-zone automatic temperature control, and a panoramic sunroof.

Cargo Space and Seating

Technology is not the only thing that makes the Grand Wagoneer such a comfortable SUV. There are 27.4 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third-row seats and 70.9 cubic feet when you fold those seats down. Fold both the second and third rows down, and you will get a maximum capacity of 116.7 cubic feet. Those numbers best all domestic competitors by up to 16.4 cubic feet.

Seven adults can comfortably ride in the Grand Wagoneer in the standard configuration with captain’s chairs in the second row. If you opt for a second-row bench seat, you can easily haul eight passengers. The seats themselves are exceptionally cushioned and supportive, and you will enjoy superb sightlines from the driver and passenger seats.

Another thing that sets the Grand Wagoneer apart from its rivals: There is plenty of legroom and headroom in all three rows, leaving plenty of space for tall adults to stay happy on long hauls. Furthermore, drivers can get a front-seat massage feature that many enthusiasts claim is superior to that of the Rolls-Royce Cullinan Black Badge.

Safety Features

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) have not crash-tested the 2022 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. But we do know that the SUV comes with state-of-the-art driver assist features, many of which are standard. Here are some of the technologies that come with every Grand Wagoneer model:

• Adaptive cruise control
• Automatic emergency braking
• Forward collision alert
• Head-up display
• Rear cross-traffic alert
• Blind-spot monitoring
• Rearview camera system
• Front and rear parking sensors
• Lane keep assist
• Surround-view parking cameras
• Park assist (perpendicular and parallel)

If you go for upgrades, you can also get features like night vision assist, intersection assist, driver drowsiness alert, a digital rearview mirror, and more. Jeep really outdid itself in the safety department with this model!

By the Series

Drivers can choose between four trims with the 2022 Grand Wagoneer. The Series I, Series II, Obsidian, and Series III all provide a 471-hp 6.4-liter V8 engine, an eight-speed automatic transmission, and four-wheel drive. You really can’t go wrong in any trim you choose. The base model is feature-rich, and the higher trims offer a few more features and subtle styling touches.

Grand Wagoneer Series I

Starting at $86,995 MSRP, the Grand Wagoneer Series I comes with features unmatched by any other competitor base model. Here are just a few of the many standard features drivers can expect:

• Napa leather seats
• Heated and ventilated front seats
• Massaging front seats
• Heated second-row seats
• Remote start
• Tri-pane panoramic sunroof
• Quad-zone automatic temperature control
• 12-inch infotainment touchscreen
• Navigation
• Bluetooth, Amazon Alexa, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto compatibility

You can add more entertainment if you opt for the Rear Seat Entertainment Group, and the Convenience Group will provide additional driver-assist technologies.

Grand Wagoneer Series II

The Grand Wagoneer Series II comes in at $93,995 and adds Palermo leather seats, traffic sign recognition, driver drowsiness monitoring, and a digital rearview mirror. Many of the add-ons from the base trim are available, such as the Heavy-Duty Trailer-Tow package, the Rear Seat Entertainment Group, and the 2nd-Row Seating Group.

A few unique features in the Convenience Group for the Series II include a rear-seat monitoring camera, night vision assist, and intersection assist. Drivers who pay for the Premium Group will get ventilated second-row seats and the 23-speaker McIntosh sound system.

Grand Wagoneer Obsidian

Starting at $98,995, the Grand Wagoneer Obsidian features unique styling elements. The 23-speaker sound system, a front passenger interactive display, and ventilated second-row. The Premium Group features come standard in the Obsidian; other than that, the same option packages as the Series II are available for the Obsidian trim.

Grand Wagoneer Series III

For $103,995, you can get the top-dawg Grand Wagoneer Series III. This beast has all the features listed above and adds a refrigerated center console, night vision assist, intersection assist, and a rear-seat monitoring camera standard. Drivers can opt for the Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow, 2nd-Row Seating, and Convenience packages. All things considered, the Series III could be the single most luxurious large SUV on the market.

Grand Wagoneer vs. The Competition

When you’re in the market for a big premium SUV, you must find one that meets your and your family’s needs. The vehicle should offer plenty of style, grace, and capability. The full-size SUV class is super competitive, which is why we’ve touched on some of the Grand Wagoneer’s rivals to help you narrow down your options!

Grand Wagoneer vs. Lincoln Navigator

The Lincoln Navigator runs on a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine (450 hp) with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The Grand Wagoneer beats out this engine with its 6.4-liter V8 that pushes 471 horses. Also, the Navigator falls short in off-road capability and interior luxuries. Not only do you have to buy the top trim (Black Label) to get standard leather upholstery, but there are fewer standard and available tech and safety features.

Grand Wagoneer vs. Cadillac Escalade

The Cadillac Escalade’s engine is even less potent than the Navigator’s. The 6.2-liter V8 provides 420 hp and pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission. While the Escalade offers a smooth drive, it lacks in the acceleration department with a zero-60 of 6.6 seconds (much less impressive than the Grand Wagoneer).

There’s no getting around that the interior of the Escalade is premium. It includes an OLED touchscreen with excellent graphics, and the modern leather upholstery is a nice touch. But there are lower-quality plastics throughout the cabin that you won’t find in the Grand Wagoneer. In that regard, it almost doesn’t feel right to compare the Cadillac Escalade to the Grand Wagoneer! The latter boasts the most luxurious cabin in the class with gorgeous wood trim, supple leather, and top-spec materials.

Conclusion

Jeep fans have long anticipated the return of the Grand Wagoneer. After a 30-year dormancy, the iconic nameplate has stormed back onto the scene and appears like it’s not taking any prisoners! The luxury full-size SUV manages to invoke elegance, style, and uncompromised power—all in one package. If you would like to see the 2022 Grand Wagoneer in person or arrange a test drive, call Mount Airy CDJRF or visit our website today!
